Last weekend marked the last event in this run of #pose25, a city-wide arts trail run by @cityartsportsmouth . Marked a full circle moment for us - we were back filming in the beautiful Storehouse 9 where we started the event's promotional campaign, filming testimonies with a fantastic cohort of artists. Shout out to these legends who sat in the Hot Seat to talk about their POSE Experience with us!

Fangs for the memories! 🧛🏻‍♀️🧛🏻 That's a wrap on Killing Time! Two-day intensive shoot on this short, putting me back in the director’s seat for fiction for the first time in a while since focusing on client work. Couldn’t have asked for a better production. The film was led by a fantastic cast - I got to work with @zak.labiad again for the first time since Sixth Form as well as the always astounding @hrmactor . Seeing the two of them take on these characters together was electric, and I can't wait for everyone to see this vampire brother/sister duo. On crew, @creation.dmc brought a powerhouse of talent and skill to the film's cinematography, capturing fine dining establishments and seedy venues with style. I'm so grateful for the gentleman and scholar that is @finnotoole01 keeping the production organised, on time and supported. Nailing the look and style of the characters was @keirahairandmakeup - from the first moodboards through to the blood rigs on set, she knew exactly what this film needed and made it happen. Finally, the legend of @malcofilm remains an essential part of any set and the best business partner and crewmate anyone could hope for. You make me want to say "Fix it in Post" less. I've got more people to thank - including an incredible crop of beautiful people who gave up a sunny afternoon to fill a scene - but I'm limited by characters and tags for this post. Today I'm feeling the gratitude, support and love from everyone who helped make this shoot happen. Killing Time Script & Direction: Tom Byrne Cinematography: Klayton Berry Assistant direction: Finn O’Toole Sound & Post Production: Alex Malcolm Hair & Make-up: Keira McKenzie Starring: Zak Labiad & Holly McLachlan as Hughie & Emily Featuring: @milo.phaelin & @eli1ize “Blood is the Wine” written by @splatz007 Locations: @smokeandmirrorsportsmouth , @therexarms , Portsmouth City Council & @kingspubsouthsea #IndieHorror #VampireFilm #ShortFilm #Filmmaking #BehindTheScenes

🟩🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 12% of the way through 2026! We’ve been making the most of it - starting the year with filming at the Portsmouth 100 launch. going into filming with start-ups and established businesses, content creation days across the country, and pulling everything together in the edit suite. Not bad for the first month! 🎆 📸 @hrmactor #Portsmouth100 #Portsmouth #VideoProduction #BehindTheScenes #portsmouthcreatives

It's officially 2026, and it's going to be a big one for the city. Southsea Castle never looked as vibrant as it did yesterday We were very lucky to be capturing the fireworks from the Gun Platform during the Portsmouth100 launch, grabbing the last few shots for our short film about Nathan Coley's new Lighthouse installation. Working New Years Day? Worth it for shots like these. Happy New Year!

OUTWITHSIDEWAYSOMEWHEREWITH One last job in December - filming the lighthouse coming back to life! This new piece by Turner Prize-nominated artist Nathan Coley will illuminate the seafront throughout the Portsmouth 100 celebrations and beyond. It’s going to be a huge year for Portsmouth and Port of Call Media - keep your eyes to the skies for what comes next, and thank you to everyone who we’ve worked with and has supported us so far. Looking for your new Port of Call for creative work? Our DMs are always open.

Tree-People, Robots, Oysters and a million and one coffee meets. 2025 was a year of adventures for Port of Call Media, and the next twelve months are set to be even bigger. We started this year as a boutique studio with strong local roots, and ended it with a national reach for work we couldn't have imagined. This is our moment to remember the year gone, and give thanks to our clients, collaborators, family and friends who have supported us throughout. Your backing and trust means more than you can know. Happy New Year! 🎉 - Tom & Alex Port of Call Media, 2025.
