Today has been a bit frustrating - not sure why, but then I also remember being frustrated 10 years ago as well 🤦♂️ - I guess the more things change, the more they remain the same.
I hope, however, that the best things about us have remained the same as well - the desire to be better for each other; the conviction that we, together, can be more than the sum of our parts; and the inclination to submit everything to the Lordship of Christ.
I read a few weeks ago that the call to “love your wife as Christ loved the church” is not as much an issue of quantity of love as much as it is a command to live romantically with your wife - and I really hope that for you, these past 10 years have been just that - and that you’ve felt like the pearl of great price that you truly are.
Today, if I’m honest, feels like just another day, but I guess this is the magic of what we have - that we treat every day as a gift, pregnant with possibilities and the opportunity to spend one more day with each other.
I hope I’ve been a good husband to you, but I’d rather have been just a husband - because how else could one exist in this world but to love you with everything I have?
Thank you for 10 years. When I count my earthly blessings, I’m stuck at you.
