Mistaken for Strangers owes almost everything to Spinal Tap. My brother would rent it all the time when I was a little kid. I didn’t get it at the time. But there are two Rob Reiner movies that take up space in my head and are seared into my few, early memories as a child at the movies. Stand By Me was the first rated R movie I ever saw in the theater, with my brother and my dad. I was 6. I remember it was a question whether they should take me or not. The bridge scene with the oncoming train lives with me to this day. That movie rules. Then, at 10 years old, I was dropped off at the movie theater to go see Home Alone for the second time, but it was sold out. So I got the box office to sell me a ticket to see Misery. Let me just say, Misery was better than Home Alone. The kids at school thought I was crazy. They’re the crazy ones. And I’ll end with this, the best thing for me about Rob Reiner is getting reminded, every couple of years, that he also did The Princess Bride! 🤗 I had an awesome birthday 🎂. I went to see 🪓 Thanksgiving 🔥👍(very excellent movie) with my girlfriend’s Dad. I drank an ice cold mt.dew Freeze. Yes! And also I went on a wonderful hike to Peanut Lake with my girlfriend. I went thru all my wishes! What the hell! 🤭
