I had the amazing opportunity last week to shoot photos for @captchacollective FIRKYTOODLE event.
It was an absolute rush and all the artists who particpated are complete legends. Special thanks to @oisin_delahugh who was key to organising and giving me the opportunity to take photos.
Please see all the muscians socials down here and given them a follow to stay up to date with their next performances.

Early morning walks help to slow it down and appreciate how good we have it in Australia.
The last photo touches on subjects I usually avoid when photographing, but the scene left a profound impact on me as a reminder of lifes fragility. Check in on your friends and family from time to time, even those not close to you and remind them that they are valued and heard.
Time to clear some backlog and take a walk through Wollongong's evening sights.

Finally got to test out the new camera for a bit, and she is one fine lady. Once university is done for the term, there'll be a lot more to come.

Taking a step into the world of Film.
Only had a phone on me for this but was still an amazing experience put on by @c.r.kennedyimaging , @pentaxaustralia , @thedarkroom.social and @camerahouse on the Pentax 17 half-frame film camera and the process of developing film at home using sustainable materials. Special thanks to @macarthur.camerahouse for getting me into the event, and if you're interested in any form of photography, film or digital, feel free to come down to the store in Narellan, we'd be more than happy to help.

How are you, I hope you're doing well.
While this should've been ready for new years, I figured I needed that extra day to properly express my thoughts on the year that was 2024 for me, and my plans for 2025 and beyond.
At the end of 2023 I made one single new year's resolution, to be able to look back at the end of 2024 with satisfaction that I was able to achieve something more with my life as I had genuinely felt that I had become a failure. Mixed results in uni grades, having to sit summer school to avoid falling behind on repeating subjects, my weight was starting to creep up again, and I was completely lost with how I was supposed to move on with life. Everyone else seemed to had figured out at least some part of their own lives to keep moving forward, and I thought I had gone down the wrong road, made the wrong choices, wronged the right people.
So with 2024 I said fuck it, I'll take the long way round, and no matter what it takes I'll become at least a fractionally better man than I was before. And while it wasn't easy, especially early on, I think I've managed to at least take that first step of improvement. I've begun enjoying the process of learning again, photography has resurfaced as a passion to sharpen my craft, and 13kg down, I'm can now look in the mirror and not look back in disgust.
But the big thing I've gained is a new perspective on life. You write your own story, and while for certain chapters you may indeed share that journey with others, they may leave to follow their own path. By intention or just different goals doesn't matter, you just look back at the lessons they taught, the experiences you shared and carry on.
To all the friends that have stuck by me, to my family, and those I consider family, while I don't show it enough, or necessarily know how too, I am truly grateful to you all and cannot thank you enough. I now look forward to the challenge of 2025 and beyond, and for anyone new or old, let's start things off on the right foot.
Hi. My name is Tom, I'm a UOW student, certified camera nerd, and soon to be motorcycle enthusiast, it's great to meet you.
