The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of North America by Matt Kracht
The first time I saw this, I showed the most passionate birder I had ever met and she laughed out loud which makes me think it's a pretty solid birding book for professionals and hobbyists alike. Or anyone who has a good sense of humor. Revel in the beautiful blues of the White-breasted Butt Nugget or the majestic Pooper's Hawk. #bwiab @mkracht
A celebration of life, authors, illustrators and reading excellence, Claire's Day is Northwest Ohio's largest book festival and an incredible community event! 📚
Claire's Day is filled to the brim with authors and illustrators, community resources supporting literacy and C.A.R.E. Awards, honoring the region's most improved readers.
Luckily, Claire's Day has expanded from one day to 🎉 TWO FULL DAYS 🎉 of festivities, with the final one tomorrow on May 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Swing by the Maumee Branch of @toledolibrary to cheer on student readers, hear from authors and illustrators and explore the organizations that make Northwest Ohio great.
Created in memory of Claire Lynsey Rubini 25 years ago, this event is truly something special, and we are so grateful for @readforliteracy 's efforts to bring Claire's Day to life 💜

They Bloom at Night by Trang Thanh Tran
Nearly two years after a disastrous hurricane, 17-year-old Vietnamese American, Noon ekes out a living as a shrimp trawler amidst severe flooding and a dangerous red algae bloom that is mutating the local wildlife. @nvtran_ 's writing is immersive and atmospheric; they cleverly incorporate elements of mystery, eco-horror, and body horror to explore Noon's heritage, grief, trauma, and queer identity.

Birds Aren't Real by Peter McIndoe & Connor Gaydos
In a time when conspiracy theories are rarely vetted and seeking knowledge has been tainted by similarly unvetted AI, Birds Aren't Real may or may not be a satire. Or, it may be the most important treatise on surveillance tactics ever to grace our generation. That'll be for you to decide. @birdsarentreal@peterdotnet@connorgaydos
