#FonetikaMono | Fixed-width type is a constraint.
Every character in Fonetika Mono occupies the same advance width, that’s the rule of monospace. What changes is how well the design holds up under that constraint.
Fonetika Mono inherits the full variable axis structure from Fonetika: weight, slant, and custom spacing logic built for multi-master production. The result is a monospace typeface that works at 10px in a terminal and at 60pt in a data-driven editorial layout.

#FonetikaMono | Monospace doesn’t have to mean monotone.
Fonetika Mono is built for the in-between — the moments where technical precision and typographic character have to coexist. Derived from Fonetika’s multi-master variable architecture, the Mono variant carries the same weight and slant axes, scaled for fixed-width environments without sacrificing optical quality.
Designed for UI, code interfaces, editorial data displays, and anywhere that demands spacing discipline without giving up design intent. Every glyph holds the same set-width.

Studio Notes 02: When to Set Type in Monospace
Fixed-width typefaces are not just for code editors. Designers use monospace for captions, labels, timestamps, and UI metadata, anywhere the mechanical texture adds functional clarity or stylistic contrast.
This episode covers when monospace is the right call and when it undermines readability. Swipe through and save for your next design system decision.

Gramatika: A Retail Fonts Case Study In use for Skintype
This identity for Skintype demonstrates Gramatika’s adaptability within the high-end retail and beauty sectors. While Skintype is a conceptual exercise, it showcases how the typeface’s clinical precision and organic warmth can be leveraged to establish a cohesive brand voice.
Through its clean apertures and low-contrast strokes, Gramatika mirrors the transparency essential for ingredient-led formulas. This creates a rhythmic, structural foundation that remains consistent across modern packaging systems. Engineered for the technical rigors of retail, Gramatika’s generous x-height and open counters ensure maximum legibility at the diminutive scales required for skincare ingredient lists and apothecary labeling.
The family available in nine weights and is equipped with comprehensive OpenType features, including tabular lining figures for precise volumetric layouts and stylistic alternates for bespoke brand expressions. Gramatika offers a robust typographic system designed to transition seamlessly between high-resolution digital interfaces and tactile print.
