When we opened Triboro in 2008 with only a single client, we made a short list of companies and individuals we most wanted to work with. Marc Jacobs was at the top of that list. 12 years later we would actually get the opportunity. In early 2020 we began what became a 2-year project to redesign all the packaging for the MJ brand. Working directly with the designer himself, the new visual system we developed includes a chiseled white frame to contain the classic Marc Jacobs logo, as well as a flood of vibrant neon yellow throughout. The new brand pattern, dubbed the monogram, appears not only in the packaging but also in recent collections and marketing campaigns. Sincere thanks to the entire MJ team, including Marc, Peter Miles and Gina Amorelli for an amazing collaboration.

So thrilled to share our new work for Japan Airlines. Working alongside JAL’s ad agency @jellyfishglobal , our collaboration with Japan Airlines on the redesign of their visual identity was a dream project. Each design element was carefully crafted to honour the legacy of JAL while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary energy that speaks to the spirit of innovation that is so core to the brand’s ethos. The new identity system introduces new logo guidelines, new typefaces, photo direction, a broad range of graphic patterns that integrate with imagery, and a library of bespoke iconography.
