Crucifixion of a Pleaser by Toetric (Teo Ruffini Maiques)
@toetric
A pleaser, a martyr, a saint, a deer, a g0d. Crucifixion of a Pleaser presents a body conditioned and performed, suspended between devotion and the ache to be seen. Under the pressure of the gaze, faith destabilises into shame, and visibility becomes a form of penetration. What begins as an offering fractures, collapsing into something corrupted and uncanny.

Teo Ruffini is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and pole dancer based between Barcelona and London. Working under the name TOE/Toetric, their practice moves across performance, dance, digital art, and sound, exploring the relationship between body, technology, and sensory experience.
Their work sits at the intersection of choreographic practice, immersive installation, and live performance, often investigating cycles of exhaustion and exuberance that shape contemporary life, as well as the sexualisation and control of bodies through movement. Drawing from both physical and digital environments, Teo creates pieces that blur the boundaries between presence and mediation, intimacy and spectacle.
They have developed projects such as Spectral Resonator (MACBA, Colección SOLO) and ENAKD, and have presented work internationally in contexts including Sónar, Davos, and San Francisco. They are also part of the collective project Multiplicity, shown in festivals such as MIRA and GRID Fest.
