Cada una de estas pinturas comenzó a gestarse antes de que yo llegara al lienzo o al papel. Cada material es una memoria, y cada memoria, una estética.
Es así como la mancha de café sugirió un crepúsculo en el horizonte, y la arcilla indómita, un cráter volcánico, y el trazo de la lluvia, un valle sagrado, y el trocito de carbón, una montaña, y la gotita de acrílico, una estrella…
Eso que sucedió entre nosotras, no pasó sin dejar huella. La huella evidenció el fenómeno, y el fenómeno: un paisaje.

Each of these paintings began to take shape before I ever reached the canvas or the paper. Every material is a memory, and every memory, an aesthetic.
Thus, the coffee stain suggested a horizon at dusk,
and the rebellious clay, a volcanic crater,
and the trace of the rain, a sacred valley,
and the fleck of charcoal, a mountain,
and the droplet of acrylic paint, a star...
What happened between us did not occur without leaving a trace.
The trace revealed the phenomenon, and the phenomenon: a landscape.
