Paul Cosner would have been 75 years old today. He is pictured here with his sister Sharon Sellitto in August 1984. Just over two months later, Paul would be murdered at the hands of serial killers Leonard Lake and a Charles Ng. The discovery of Paul’s car in the summer of 1985 led to the unfolding of the most gruesome and expensive serial murder case in California’s history. Our series tells this story, and Sharon’s 14 year fight for justice for her brother’s murder, which she never received. Paul’s body was never found and Sharon is still searching to this day. I’m honored to call her my friend and to be telling her story.
2019 was a tough year, head down pushing forward to develop our next project - a multi-part podcast and documentary series. Enormously proud of our team who put in hundreds and hundreds of hours, armed only with the belief that we could get this thing off the ground. 2020, let’s have it! 👊🏻 #Believe
I’m so honored to be recognized at @queenpalmfilmfest with the award for Best Director - Documentary. But there are others who worked tirelessly alongside me and deserve equal recognition for this. I simply could not have made @risefilm without Mike Baum (@breakerfallx ) and Scott Parker (@stealmusicbuyart ). Without these two legendary human beings, it would not be the film it is. This is for you Mike and Scott.
I’m excited for the future and to be working alongside these guys on our next project. ♥️
Happy birthday to RISE cinematographer Needham Smith III. Such beautiful work on that cold January day at Bodega Bay and throughout the interviews for the film. ♥️
