For our 2026 Today Awards we were so lucky to work with Aaron Eastment @warudreaming , a contemporary artist inspired by the earth, sea and sky. Aaron is a proud Wiradjuri, Mabuiag, and Erub Islander man from Brisbane, Queensland, now living in Melbourne.

Aaron’s work is titled Waru’s Journey and he shared these words with us:

“Waru’s Journey is inspired by a childhood visit to Mon Repos Turtle Encounters in Bundaberg, where I witnessed turtles nesting and the conservation work that supports their survival. The careful relocation of eggs left a lasting impression and continues to inspire my artistic practice. Through this work, I imagine the hatchlings emerging, reaching the ocean, and beginning their journey. The painting reflects Waru’s (Turtle’s) resilience and vulnerability, while highlighting the importance of conservation and our shared responsibility to care for Country and sea life for future generations.”

“When you go rainbow, you are showing that you stand with our community, and that you’re willing to do the work to make sure we feel like we belong.” 🌈 The International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination is more than a day of rainbow morning teas. Way more. Here, a few of our amazing Young Leaders tell us exactly what it means to them when they see allies, schools, councils and organisations go rainbow. 🎬 Created by our incredible friends at @todaydes with @biddle.biddle . We’ve partnered with Today for seven years – and they’ve been instrumental in supporting our work creating a safe and welcoming world for queer youth.

As the long-standing digital partner for @ourwatch , we were thrilled to develop the digital experience for the Comfort Zone campaign. Comfort Zone is part of their primary prevention behaviour change campaign, @theline_au , targeting young people aged 14-20 years. It was developed to encourage learning and discussion around boundaries.   “Too often, harmful behaviours are dismissed as ‘just jokes’ or ‘not a big deal’. But these attitudes create the conditions where violence can occur,” Our Watch CEO Patty Kinnersly said.  “By stepping outside our comfort zones, we can shift these norms, whether that’s speaking up in a conversation, supporting respectful relationships, or questioning behaviours that reinforce inequality.”

Hee-Won Ham, Senior Product Designer, has shared five great links with us in our latest newsletter: 1 Culture shifts when we dare to imagine life organised differently, and then actually make it happen. Creative strategist Kemi Ajisekola writes a timely essay on using creativity as resistance to create shared meaning, hold communities in uncertain times and imagine what comes next. tday.ly/heewon1 2 Based in Naarm, Made in Palestine is dedicated to providing Palestinians with meaningful and tangible support. Follow for important conversations, exhibitions, and creative workshops that celebrate Palestinian life and culture. tday.ly/heewon2 3 A selfie, but described—feelings, textures, smells, emotions or a combination. Alt text selfies is a collection of selfies that turns an access practice, often approached in a dry compliance-oriented way, into something sensory and connective. It will make you rethink how you write alt text. tday.ly/heewon3 4 Wondering how to embed inclusive design into your practice from the very start? Microsoft’s Inclusive Design toolkit offers tools, activity cards, and guides to help teams design for physical accessibility, mental health, and neurodiversity. tday.ly/heewon4 5 Inclusive Design 24 is a free online event that brings together designers, developers, planners, and practitioners from all over the world to share their knowledge, united by a shared belief that design should work for everyone. Watch the entire playlist. tday.ly/heewon5

A look back at one of our most considered sustainable fitouts: the Today Design office in Collingwood. The 700m² space was designed to promote collaboration and innovation, with design choices that support clients, collaborators, and their teams. A key component of this fitout was a commitment to zero waste and using readily available materials. Interior walls are constructed from timber framing and OSB board, bathed in natural light through translucent corrugated sheeting. The layout of this office fitout intentionally breaks away from the rigid building grid, utilising sliding track elements and movable panels to foster interaction. Visitors are welcomed by a tapered timber entry portal leading to a reception area, lounge, and gallery/event space. Flexible design elements, such as hinged walls and operable curtains, adapt spaces for various group sizes. Private work pods, video conferencing suites, and meeting rooms encircle a central stair core, with translucent panels ensuring privacy and natural light. *Commendation in the 2024 Australian Interior Design Awards Workplace Category* #familybuilt

AGDA VIC is back in 2026 with Open Studio – this time to visit @todaydes in Collingwood. Open Studio is a chance for designers to tour the creative hubs of Victoria, meet creative teams, and connect with like-minded professionals in a relaxed and inspiring setting. Today is a design and innovation studio. They help organisations tackle problems with the people who are most affected by them, bringing a human-centred approach to design, development, and implementation. They’re a team of 60+ diverse designers, strategists and technologists working in multidisciplinary teams across studios in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Their practice is built on meaningful collaboration between their team, your organisation, and the communities you serve. They bring together strategy, research, design and technology to create products, services and systems that are accessible, usable and useful for all: digital, physical, or somewhere in between. Join us for drinks and nibbles as the team shares some insight into the studio’s practice. We recommend arriving from 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start to grab a drink, wander around the studio space, and meet the creatives before. This event is open to AGDA members and the general public with limited seats available. Please register so you don’t miss out! When Wednesday, March 25, 2026 6:00pm-8:00pm Where The Commons Level 8, 54 Wellington Street Collingwood VIC 3066
