Reflecting on my journey up to this point, has been filled with so many emotions. The journey has been marked by moments of self-doubt, challenges to overcome, and skeptics questioning my career path. In the face of these challenges, I have discovered that unwavering determination and relentless hard work are the keys that unlock the door to extraordinary achievements. These obstacles have only fueled my drive to succeed, showing me that with perseverance and dedication, I can conquer any hurdle and reach new heights of success.
Receiving recognition as one of Business Elite’s Top 40 Individuals in Canada is a surreal experience that I am still trying to fully comprehend.
The encouragement and support from those who have followed my dance journey and encouraged me to pursue it as a career have been crucial in propelling me forward. Back for the 4th year running and returning as our main judge for the night, Tobin Thomas is a name that resonates deeply within the Malayalee and South Asian dance community.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Tobin began dancing at the age of 5 and went on to become one of the first Malayalee male dancers to break barriers and perform on Malayalee stages, helping pave the way for future generations to follow. What began as passion quickly turned into purpose and then into impact.
An award-winning choreographer and the CEO & Founder of @shadowentertainment , a company with a global presence, Tobin has led his company across the world while consistently uplifting dancers and creating spaces for talent to thrive. A Canada’s Got Talent 2022 finalist, he has shared the stage with icons including AP Dhillon, Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, RBD, Lilly Singh among many others.
Beyond the stage, Tobin is also the visionary who introduced and pioneered the concept of a dance competition at formal, transforming it into a tradition that celebrates culture, creativity, and excellence. Now in its fourth year, the legacy continues.

The first South Asian Choreographers Showcase was UNVEILED, marking a milestone in the dance community.
Shoutout to all the choreographers of this dance piece that played a pivotal role in bringing our vision to life on stage. I am so proud of my team for coming together and bringing this performance to life within just one week. From mix edits, costumes, choreography sessions, and formation adjustments, it truly paid off, showcasing the team’s commitment and talent.
The past week was nothing short of intense, but my dancers’ ability to adapt to quick changes with grace and skill was truly commendable. Their resilience and passion for their craft shone through. I am grateful to have such a talented group of individuals as part of the company, and their contributions were instrumental in making yesterday’s performance a memorable one.
The energy and creativity at Unveiled was nothing short of extraordinary. It was absolutely amazing to witness the dance community come together and unite, showcasing the diverse talent and artistry that Toronto has to offer. All the choreographers and their teams made history yesterday, pushing boundaries and setting new standards for dance.The level of talent showcased by each team was inspiring, leaving the audience wanting more and inspired. The dedication, hard work, and passion poured into each performance were evident, creating a truly unforgettable experience for all involved.
A huge thank you to the organizers of this event @anoshinie and @idkshantel , for their hard work and dedication in putting this event together. Your efforts truly shone through. Benita, a distinguished figure in the realm of Bharathanatyam dance and choreography. Benita’s blend of traditional and contemporary styles commands admiration and respect on global stages, elevating her to an esteemed position in the world of Bharathanatyam dance. Her commitment to preserving and evolving the rich heritage of Bharathanatyam, while embracing modern influences, underscores her unwavering dedication to the art form.
Mathu is an exceptionally talented individual who has invested nine years in honing her proficiency across a spectrum of dance genres. Her choreography is known for its power-packed movements and intricate execution, showcasing her exceptional talent. Her talent has been recognized through participation in competitions, including representing York University and being a finalist on Canada's Got Talent.
Arththika is a versatile artist who wears many hats, including choreographer, dancer, and stylist. She is trained in Bharathanatyam, Dancehall, Salsa, and more. Her notable achievements include being a finalist on Canada’s Got Talent’s and ongoing collaborations as a choreographer and performer with M.I.A, Sahi Siva, and more
Gowshi, a multifaceted dancer and choreographer renowned for her mastery in a diverse range of styles including Bharathanatyam, Kuthu, Dancehall, and more. Her journey in the world of dance began through her involvement with York Huskies, Shadow Entertainment and Zillas. As the Co-founder and Creative Director of Zillas Dance Crew, Gowshi has played an instrumental role in shaping and elevating the dance scene.
