Attending the launch of Ìṣẹ́pẹ́ by Àrẹ̀mọ Yusuf Àlàbí Balógun @aremogemini over the weekend was more than an experience. I had the chance to witness how art, poetry, and powerful storytelling came together to hold a room in thoughtful silence, laughter, and knowing nods.
The book itself opens conversation on black tax, widowhood, feminism and more heavy themes told with sharp honesty. From the author’s speech to the poets’ performances and the crowd’s reaction during the reading, the entire atmosphere was charged with meaning. I left feeling seen, stirred, and grateful for spaces like this.
