“Budgets are moral documents.” At last night’s D5 People’s Budget Town Hall, hosted at TNDC’s Kelly Cullen Community residence, we learned how proposed cuts threaten vital community programs. Knowledge is power. Stay informed-- the strength of our community depends on it.
Last month, TLCBD’s Community Organizing & Partnerships Advisor, Esan Looper, joined several Tenderloin partners for a @missionlocal panel on the future of the neighborhood's parks and green spaces. The conversation explored expansion, accessibility, and ensuring that kids, families, and the broader community can access and enjoy the neighborhood’s parks. We are grateful to our community partners including @stanthonysf , @sanfranciscoplanning , and @tndcsf , for a thoughtful discussion on how to ensure green spaces remain a resource for everyone in the Tenderloin and San Francisco.
📢 Market Match is under threat. Here's what you can do to help.
Funding for Market Match, which doubles CalFresh EBT participants’ benefits at farmers markets across the state, was cut from Governor Newsom’s proposed 2026-27 budget. If Market Match is not reinstated in California’s budget, funding will run out in early 2027, and the program will end.
