Stoked that I got to catch up with my friend and neighbor from childhood @bossward43 in our hometown of Antioch on this video shoot for the golf channel. Last time I saw him was after I graduated high school, before his #NFL career took off, and before I really ever picked up a camera. We’ve both come a long way, and I’m grateful to @grooveitbrush for supporting this project and giving us the opportunity to reconnect. I had the recent fortune to join fellow filmmakers @reabundance and @eqwiththeview on a roadtrip through the American South, flying drone and gathering footage for their documentary series #UnAmericanJustice about the Civil Rights movement. We visited historic crime scenes near St. Louis Missouri, the MLK Memorial and Civil Rights Museum in Memphis Tennessee, historic black churches and colleges in Jackson Mississippi, the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma Alabama, the Old Slave Market & Auction House in Charleston South Carolina, and of course, the Waffle House in Atlanta Georgia. In 6 days we drove over 1200 miles, ate real southern BBQ (and fresh Atlantic seafood), experienced the lasting effects of segregation in the South, and met some incredible leaders, including Reverend Dolphus Weary, Civil Right Advocate Brian Crawford, and Legendary Jet Magazine Photojournalist Cecil Williams. I even got to catch up with my friend @swissarmyproductions (scroll to the end to see him). It was an emotional and unforgettable trip that I’m grateful to have been invited on.
