KAOSHIUNG!!!
I’m coming on May 1st and 2nd with @musa_keys and @tmustone to play at @marsalis.bar - we are reimagining the Latin American songbook, so there will be laughter, dancing and maybe even singing…
See you there!

After years of being annoyed at Android's AGC I finally found a workaround to shoot videos without the compression rendering audio unlistenable. Now it's a tad low on volume, but I prefer this still.

Heli Hartikainen & Teemu Mustonen perform a duo improvisation at Musta Kissa Bar
---
Heli Hartikainen is a boundary-breaking saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and sound artist. As one of the boldest improvisers in Finland’s experimental music and ambient jazz scenes, Hartikainen’s music explores sonic textures and evolving soundscapes, abstractions, and concepts – always rooted in an insatiable love for sound. As a saxophonist, Hartikainen is a passionate instrumentalist, constantly pushing the limits of their instrument – and themselves – ever further.
Hartikainen’s debut solo album, CHRONOVARIATIONS, which utilizes 3D audio technology, was awarded the Finnish Critics’ Association’s Kritiikin Kannukset honorary prize in 2025 for the most significant artistic breakthrough of the year, and was nominated for the 2024 Emma Award for Best Jazz Album – the Finnish equivalent of the Grammy.
Teemu Mustonen is an percussionist who seeks paths between textures and intermittent rhythms. Teemu plays around in different lineups of improvised and composed music while co-hosting a seasonal club of improvised and contemporary music, Suhina Klubi.
