So many people grow up holding stories they were never given permission to tell. When those stories stay buried, they stay frozen in time.
Storytelling creates a way to speak them aloud, be witnessed, and finally process them in community with care and perspective.
This is one of the many reasons why we do this work.

As Sam leads the choir at his rehab for their first performance since the untimely death of one of their peers, he thinks, âItâs hard to sing love songs to God after our collective loss.â
And still, they sing. They move through it together, through community and song. It reflects something we hold closely at TMI Projectâthat some of the strongest tools of recovery are connection, expression, and creation.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, weâre reminded that healing doesnât happen in isolation. We need each other for that.
