This was from the first show at Red Rocks.
I’d never sang in front of a crowd that large. Just church, school, and maybe a club or two…
My stomach was hitting the milly rock or SOMETHIN just a few hours before, but all the nerves went away once I began to sing. It felt soothing, cathartic, like something in me needed to get this out. And I am so very glad I did.
I’m grateful for this chance to share my voice with you.

I just love this track. And I REALLY love how I knew I wanted to record drums within 5 seconds of hearing it.
There’s much room for interpretation and expression here; I have about 3 or 4 other takes I could’ve went with 😂

When I decided to learn David Garibaldi’s famous Oakland Stroke, I realize I may have been focused on the notes he was playing, more than the feel that led to those notes. Yeah it sounds good, but I think if I were to play it today, my feel would be quite different…🤔 brb 🏃🏾♀️💨

I spent about 30 minutes yesterday just doing this. I discovered how uncomfortable it was to lead with my left hand. So, I kept doing it 😅 in the hopes that some day, it might actually feel natural 😌 Gonn head! Give it a try!

Thought I’d share a lil sum sum from the masterclass a couple weeks back. In posting this, I’m reminding myself that my page has always been about documenting my journey.
