With gravel and road bikes often dominating media coverage at the show, we’re always pleased to see what @tjdbikes is going to bring and we weren’t disappointed!
It was great to see Benji from @singletrackmagazine and this was his take on the TJD BMX, ‘Try to ignore the quad-bike tyres for a moment and marvel at the ‘do you know what? It makes sense’ design of a full-suspension BMX. Speaking as someone who last rode a BMX (a lot) in 1992, adding a bit of joint-saving cush to a modern geometry BMX strongly appeals. Designed to run pretty much as a zero-sag design, this bike from TJD boss Ted James should ride pretty much like a regular BMX in terms of directness but should take the sting out of landings.’

Hard to do this justice with photos, or words for that matter!
Custom steel bmx for @bearbonesbmxco with double butted @reynoldstechnology 631 main tubes and unique finishing.
Translucent metallic green over phosphate with cut vinyl under laquer.
Aaaaand custom acid etched @bearbonesbmxco headbadge.
What an honour to be part of this build! So stoked to have it at @bespoked.cc show. Words from @marlboropete below.
“So this here is the LAST Bmx I will ever build, a very special project indeed in honour of my late father, Mr “Chromey” Ken Marselle. @jdbikes fabricated this custom frame for me and@crucialbmxshop / @summerofthehayes supplied me with all the top notch parts to put this thing together. It’s based around the look of a 1966 Manx Norton which my dad rode back in the day at the Manx Grand Prix and TT races, he was known as Chromey Ken for his habit of polishing all the parts on his bike to the shinyest possible standard. This one’s for you old man. Ride on”.

@bespoked.cc isn’t all about brand new bikes, come see my own bmx with frame of 10 years still going strong. It’s got the old copper plated rear end with new paint up front and some fresh new parts from @united_bmx thanks to @4downdistro
The Peckham show is open all weekend come check it out and some other beauties
Trails rig for Rich. This thing is long and low, 21.5TT, lowest bb bmx I’ve built and proper trails length chainstays.
Featuring CS 990 mounts with stop in seatube, tidy little cable guides with top one offset, plate seatstay bridge reminiscent of his old dirt bike, long 10mm dropouts for lots of adjustment, painted in this deep blue with a laquer and finished with the acid etched shield headbadge.
Cheers Rich
Garage makers sit at the sharp end of cycling’s creative edge, where concepts are tested, refined, and brought into the world by a single pair of hands (or a very small team).
Stefano Nucera @broomwagonpodcast joins John Ross @shaggyjohn and Ted James @tjdbikes for a conversation on the realities of small-scale making - navigating constraints, embracing experimentation, and carrying the full weight of the process from first sketch to finished product.

Last summer 📷 @tombingphoto
I think this was at the end of our trip to Cornwall in the van, surfing, skating, riding hanging out with the kids and Tom, Sally and Billy.
I’d noticed this spot the year before but the time wasn’t right, this was a bit early and feeling a bit hazy after a long week in the van and maybe one too many beers the night before but I had to hit it, I really wanted to get something else but didn’t this time so came away a little deflated but was fun to hit the drop and was really stoked to see these shots from Tom, I love a sequence shot, I remember staring at some for hours in mags studdying every position.
I’ve been meaning to do more for a while and had lots of people asking so they’re getting done next two weeks and taking pre orders now.
I also need the help to pay the bills with the slight dip in productivity due to broken ankle so any orders will be much appreciated. I’ll try get some t’s and hoodies on the go too.
Caps are one size with adjustment, terracotta with bone 🦴 embroidery £26 including uk postage and a vinyl cut sticker.
Please send payment via PayPal to [email protected] and include your address
I did some black, navy and army green before but they were sewn slightly differently and not quite as good but if you’d like one just comment that on PayPal and I’ll order for you
Many thanks for your support and stoke!
