This sign (made by @snowmade ) sits by our register and a customer commented earlier this week that it seemed very philosophical and heavy handed for a gift shop.
Jen responded, “it’s not meant to be preachy, it’s just a statement of small business reality.”
Because it is. Shopping with us supports not only our small business but the myriad of small businesses we stock in our shops. Keeping us around means you like what we are doing and what we are bringing to the community.
Some of our favorite brick & mortar small business friends are closing their doors at the end of this year, others have already made the tough decision to close their shops and move on. When we were curating this year’s annual maker market we were excited about the artists who outgrew our one day pop-up and were in their own brick & mortar shops or at long-term holiday markets instead of with us today, but heartbroken by the many more that are no longer making. So if there are shops or artists you care about, support them before it’s too late.
We wouldn’t be here without your support, in all the ways that you offer it, whether it’s spending some of your hard earned dollars with us, sharing our posts, or bringing your dogs around to cheer us up with some pawsitive encouragement.
We are here for you. We are here because of you.

PS. Stop by the Growing Center's table to make a DIY paper craft: A 3D ladybug or bee pop-up card! Using simple precut paper circles, glue sticks, and cardstock, craft your own "bug" card. Add googly eyes and use markers for an added touch to make them your own. These make great fridge art, or use them as handmade Mother's Day or Father's Day gifs!
