Three Truths - Parent Edition 🔥✨ #1 Education can look different than we are programmed to believe. It is OK (and NEEDED) to step outside the mainstream beliefs and expectations. #2 YOU know what is best for your child. You can create a flow that works best for your child’s nervous system & well-being (and yours too!) Don’t let anyone override your intuition and gut feeling on what your child is needing. #3 YES you can absolutely do this. YES you can make this lifestyle work. YES you have what it takes. YES you can, and you are not alone. Find your people. Find your community. Find your tribe. You’ve got this 🔥

There is something deeply powerful about beginning the day in song. 🌞🥁🔥 This morning, gathered around the fire, our Tiny Oaks children sang with open hearts beneath the sunshine, practicing with the handmade frame drums they created themselves. Together, we set an intention to send love, healing, and light out into the world for those who may need it most. These moments are more than music. They are children learning that their voices carry power, intention, and love. At Tiny Oaks, our mornings begin slowly, intentionally, and in rhythm with the earth, with each other, and with the heart. ✨ I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

At Tiny Oaks this past month, our children stepped into a fully integrated learning journey centered around eggs, incubation, spring, growth, chicks, ducks, and the beautiful cycles of life all around us. 🌱🥚🐣 What may look like “just chicks” on the surface became rich opportunities for scientific inquiry, literacy, measurement, observation, storytelling, cooperative games, artistic expression, reflection, and hands-on mathematical learning. Every experience was intentionally woven together through meaningful, real-world connections. At Tiny Oaks, we deeply believe that when learning is alive, children thrive. ✨ Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet Ontario curriculum expectations while remaining connected to nature, curiosity, wonder, and the rhythms of the earth. Rather than separating subjects into disconnected boxes, we create immersive learning experiences that allow children to build deep understanding through living, breathing experiences they can truly connect to. Our May curriculum is now LIVE! 🌱 Designed for Primary (Grades 1–3) or Junior (Grades 4–6), this month invites children into a deeper relationship with learning through real-life experiences and meaningful exchange. Students will explore mathematical concepts through living systems, step into financial literacy and entrepreneurship, and prepare for a culminating market experience where their ideas come to life. This is education rooted in connection, responsibility, and purpose ❤️‍🔥🌱✨ Follow the link in BIO to get your copy

Today’s learning came straight from the land 🌿 Our students foraged wild leeks and dandelion greens from the forest, then gathered together to create their own small-batch, homemade pesto using fresh, whole ingredients. With pestle and mortar in hand, they experienced the beauty of slowing down, working together, and transforming what the earth provides into something nourishing. Each child brought home a jar they made themselves… a little taste of the forest and a whole lot of pride 💚 @pondsideacres @edibly_wild @refoundeducation

⚽Community in motion. Soccer Fest is more than just a game — it’s what happens when education, movement, and community come together. This collaboration between @refoundeducation , @kindred.spirits.school , and @tifosi_football_academy is bringing together an incredible mix of learners and leaders, including: 🌿 @kindred.spirits.school 🌱 @tinyoaksforestschool 🌾 @the.three.sisters.village 📚 @agoraprep 🍃 @evergreenleadershipacademy 🏡 + our growing homeschool community Different models. Different approaches. One shared intention — creating meaningful, connected experiences for kids. This is what it looks like when we step out of silos and into something bigger. When educators collaborate, kids win. Grateful to everyone showing up, contributing, and building this with us 🙌 Let’s play. Let’s connect. Let’s reimagine what’s possible. #RefoundEd #SoccerFest #EducationReimagined #CommunityCollaboration

Today marked our very first soccer tournament, and it felt like something truly special! Watching our children step onto the field, try something new, support one another, and play with full hearts was such a beautiful moment for our community. We’ve been craving more opportunities like this, where movement, teamwork, and connection come alive in a different way. To finally have organized sports woven into our rhythm feels like a whole new layer opening up for our children. Grateful to have shared this experience alongside other alternative education communities and homeschooling families. There was such a strong sense of belonging, encouragement, and joy throughout the day ❤️❤️❤️ @the.three.sisters.village @agoraprep @evergreenedu A heartfelt thank you to @kindred.spirits.school and @refoundeducation for bringing this together and creating space for our children to play, grow, and connect. More of this, please 💛🔥🔥🔥 @claudia_mercuri @raisingkindhearts @arinaimaeva @jaclynrea @spruceandclover @lisamerie2014 @stellafokas_ @soni.takhar @natasha_soul.nectar.alchemy

Today at Tiny Oaks 🧭🌲 We became navigators of the land with @edibly_wild @pondsideacres With compasses in hand, the children stepped into the ancient art of direction — learning how to read the world through North, South, East, and West, and trusting their bodies to move with purpose. But we didn’t stop there… They became mapmakers. Each child hid real treasure in the earth — digging, covering, and marking their secret spot — then carefully crafted a treasure map to guide another. Step by step. Direction by direction. Thoughtfully, intentionally. “Take 15 steps North… turn East… look beneath the cedar…” And then the magic unfolded. Maps were exchanged. Minds focused. Bodies moved with intention. Some searched. Some got lost. Some recalibrated. All persevered. And one by one… treasure was found. This is math. This is geography. This is problem-solving. This is embodied learning. This is what happens when children don’t just learn about the world… they learn how to move within it.

🌿 Today at Tiny Oaks, we experienced the sacred art of drum making. We honour the frame drum as one of the most ancient instruments known to humanity — a medicine tool carried by ancestors across the world. From Indigenous cultures on Turtle Island, to the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and across Europe including Spain and Celtic lands, to ancient civilizations like Greece, Rome, and Egypt, and into the Arctic and Siberia… the drum has always been a bridge between worlds. Built from the earth. Played by human hands. Felt through the heart. There is something deeply uniting in remembering that this rhythm has lived in so many lineages before us. Today, we didn’t just make a drum… We awakened something. We called forward an ancient thread of memory into the present moment — through rhythm, song, and connection. And as if the land was echoing that same energy… our very first chick hatched today 🐣 @pondsideacres New life. New rhythm. New beginnings. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Thank you @rufusglassco for gently, humbly and open heartedly leading us through this beautiful process ❤️
