So many thoughts and feelings and people to thank.
The running went swimmingly according to plan up till about 38km and everything blew up; complete loss of any energy, I couldn’t walk straight, nauseousness. Panic set in but God answered my prayers and placed me right next to a Tesco express. Stumbled in and just about managed to buy a bottle of full fat coke and that seemed to have done the trick. The rest of the way was a battle between my mind, my body and spirit and ultimately crossed the line slightly short of my goal times but honestly, who cares, this was an experience unlike any other (yet).
So many people to thank. Jesus, all glory goes to Him. Honestly there were several moments were it not for prayers, this may have been a DNF.
@_emilyward for once again giving me the time and space to train for this and following me all the way up to Manchester and travelling right across Manchester to support me during the race and to take these photos. I love you.
Every single one of you, acquaintances, friends, family honestly too many to name, who prayed for me, tracked me and texted me before, during and after the race. Reading every text that popped up on my watch while going through it honestly meant so much and added just that bit more fuel that I needed when I had to dig deep.
@lucy_llloyd , my unexpected marathon companion, nice to not have to start a race like this on my own, and to have a prayer moment before we started. That was one of a kind, so thank you. (Hope work goes well today 😂)
One last special shout out to
@billyhordle - for shaming me on my aborted long runs during the dog days of the training which actually motivate me to go on my long runs. I know they were jokes, but it got me going. Thank you.
Wow. I’m a marathon finisher babyyyyyy 🙌
