The last little while has been very kind to me and I’ve had space to write music. Sharing it scares me an awful lot, so that probably means it’s exactly the thing I need to do. Pictured are some places I’ve been sitting, strumming, singing. It’s both lovely and scary to have you here, hang tight. Photo by the man who has been almost everywhere, the talented @kegs9till5

My best mate just released his first album and holy heck it’s one of my favourite releases from an Aussie artist. If you’ve ever listened to my music you’ve heard @mini_waters / Mitch Rubly. His beautiful fingerprint is on all of it. Mitch and I have been writing/playing songs together in different bands since 2009. I’ve been immensely lucky to be riding shotgun for the Mini Waters prologue all these years. The first time I heard ‘Where the Heart Is’ from this album was a voice recording in 2016 and it absolutely floored me (last pic). This body of work has been on the way ever since and it’s finally here. If you haven’t yet, jump in now because the fella is very much just getting started. The album launch show is THIS SAT at Shotkickers, Melbourne. Do yourself and your friends a solid and get there. In the meantime have a listen to ‘Thanks for Everything’ cover to cover (search mini waters bandcamp).

After craning your neck back for weeks to squint out the route, it finally sits under your feet and there’s nothing left to look up to. Physically you walk down empty handed, but inside you keep something. I’ll never forget finishing The Nose, sitting under the tree with three friends, each of us with a visceral understanding of what went in to making that beautiful lasting thing. Hunter Cole & Sean Webb-Martin one pitch from the summit. Video coming real soon! @mont @sean.webbmartin

Mark McGivern topping out an attempt on Tiger Cat (33). Elphinstone, Blue Mountains Gave myself a black eye taking this shot. Was very worth it when I saw this pop up in the viewfinder. Big ol’ caption continued in the comments.

@marty_doolan (aka the most photographed climber in The Blue Mountains - and for good reason) savouring every move of Ying-Yang (5.10d), an endless finger crack tucked in a corner that keeps your calves thinking from the moment you step off the ground. Yosemite
