What a truly specatcular year in the rear view. A recent influx of lovely messages showing us at the top of respective streaming lists has prompted some nice reflection! Ticked off some relatively hefty achievements this year and I'm again reminded none of this would be possible without community. Grateful for anyone who's been listening, seen a show, bought a record or a shirt, donated to creating the album. You guys make the wheels go round. For those who came from near, those who came from far, those who have followed us from the beginning, all those who were involved in the show, from the bottom of our hearts, thanks for everything. How lucky we are to have the culmination of so many years of work be such a point of celebration, and how affirming in our practice to see all those beautiful smiling faces! It's overwhelming to see the music fostering connection, love, and understanding, just as intended. We're launching this baby on September 13 at @shotkickersmelb with special guests @skink.tank and @thinkaboutyouband , and I'm prayin' I see all your lovely faces there! "Thanks for Everything" is out today 🥳🥳🥳 and I'm not crying you're crying. You've heard the story of the gorgeous community behind the realisation of this work, but I've not yet sung the praises of the key players behind this thing. For a long time these songs came to me one by one, and I carried them around with me in my pocket, bringing them out for the occasional one man show or a Big Veranda moment (iykyk), but I always heard them orchestrated in a much grander scale in my head. Circa 2022-23 I received kick after kick after kick up the bum from the people who make up Mini Waters today, and with tireless effort and a lot of fun, these songs took on a new life. In the Autumn of last year I had potentially the time of my life recording this album in @qualityusedcars__ ' Caryard, though I was so stressed at the time I didn't even know it. These peeps are my rocks.
