Rereading Lightfall book 1 after reading book 3 to find this scene hits differently. IYKYK. I'm currently on my reread of the Lightfall graphic novel series by @timprobert . The artwork is gorgeous, and the story is charming and whimsical and full of hope despite the fallen state of the world Irpa. For those unfamiliar, the sun is gone, and only portions of the planet are lit by the mysterious Lights that keep the dark at bay. Cad ląduje na wybrzeżu Pellidyru, gdzie spotyka duchy Irpy. Jeden z nich prowadzi go w miejsce, gdzie świat żywych i umarłych dzieli jedynie brama... Czy bohater podejmie się śmiertelnie niebezpiecznego zadania, aby ocalić to co kocha? Bea natomiast budzi się w stolicy, gdzie pewne odkrycie może zmienić całą rzeczywistość... 🌟Na "Lightfall" od początku patrzę na kilku płaszczyznach. Warstwa przygodowa jest fenomenalna. W świecie przebodźcowania potrafi zaangażować czytelnika, jednocześnie wyciszając myśli i pozwalając w pełni skupić się na fabule. Dynamika jest obecna nawet w dialogach, które są przejrzyste i sensowne. 🌟Sam zarys bohaterów to jednak coś, co najbardziej przykuwa moją uwagę. Postaci mają swoje unikalne charaktery, a wraz z nimi także problemy. Z tomu na tom przechodzą oni powolną przemianę, pięknie ukazując jak na człowieka potrafi zadziałać sytuacja, ale przede wszystkim także ludzie, którzy go otaczają. Dla młodszego odbiorcy może to być cenne źródło informacji o własnych emocjach. My family went to the Gaithersburg Book Festival yesterday for the first time and it was such a great event!! My girls got to meet and get books signed by a few of their favorite authors and I still can’t get over how wonderful the authors were with them. @timprobert and @afrederickfrost especially took so much time drawing personalized cartoons into their books for them and those books are pretty much my daughters’ prized possessions now 🥰 I actually found out about @gburgbookfest when I was looking online to see if @gretchenwritesbooks would be doing any signings around Maryland this year. We were running late yesterday (that’s pretty standard for my family 😅) so I didn’t think we would make it in time for her signing slot, but we happened to walk in just as she was finishing up. I ran to the on-site bookstore to buy her new gorgeous trad paperback so I could get it signed and when I came back in, I found my family chatting away with her! 🤣❤️ Thank you for being so kind Gretchen and I can’t wait to start the audio for Splintered Kingdom next! 😍 If you live in or around Maryland, I can’t recommend the Gaithersburg Book Festival enough! It was so well organized and there were so many great vendors and authors for people of all ages.
