Meet @timothyshriver , the class of 2026 Laetare Medalist:
Here's five things you didn't know about the chairman of @specialolympics . He'll receive the oldest and most prestigious honor given exclusively to American Catholics at commencement on Sunday.
There’s a new cheer for anyone ready to be an includer: “look, listen, lock!”
The great panthers of Bush Hill Elementary showed it off together with their amazing unified sports skills.
Don’t doubt that young Americans and their teachers and families can make our country more just and more joyful. They’re already doing exactly that!

If today’s debates about housing, child care, health care, or wages feel abstract, “We Called It A War” brings them back to the participation rule: Programs earn trust when the people most affected help run them.
This book, written by my father nearly 60 years ago, tells a story we still need to hear today.
Read this book and you’ll see the heart behind it all—how his faith led him to sit with people he disagreed with, how he met the country where it was instead of demanding it change for him, and how he gave his life to helping others help themselves.
He was not taken seriously and he soldiered on with humility and grit. He was treated with contempt and responded with dignity. He faced division, even in his own family, and tried to ease it. He trusted God.
We don’t just need leaders like him—we need to believe in systems like these again. Patients sitting on community health center boards. Neighborhood leaders governing community action agencies. Head Start supporting children and their families.
My siblings and I are so excited to share his work with you!
Thank you, Dad!

Ended Easter hoping we could all remember each other’s names. We found out that at least one of us, my grandson Francis, can. Check out his gold medal performance.
Miracle row at Easter mass - all my kids and grandkids home celebrating the resurrection. And if you don’t believe in miracles, how can you explain this: the choir at St Martins let me join!!
Happy Easter. Wishing you all miracles of rising.
🚨 @timothyshriver breaks down how hatred is a critical issue in America and how the way we treat each other is also a problem but how can we fix it? Check out the full interview on @netflix .
🚨 @timothyshriver is live on The Breakfast Club to trying to fix the the issues in America and how, for the first time, there is a barometer that measures dignity and where our society stands within these metrics. Listen live RN ➡️ Breakfastclubonline.com/listen
There is an urgent new issue in our country that’s almost as important to them as the cost of living: how we treat each other. To start making a difference, we don’t need a majority. We don’t even need millions. We just need a trend. Join us in this movement.

I am grateful for all the wisdom and energy that surfaced during my time in Switzerland.
There is no doubt in my mind that Switzerland is open for a new inauguration of the spirit and practices of inclusion and no doubt in my mind that our athletes will be able to move people forward through uncertainty and change into a more just and joyful future.
With three years until we celebrate the Games with pride, we have a powerful opportunity to create a lasting legacy in Switzerland for the world. Nothing less will do!!
“We hope the barometer will offer eye-opening insights into the hidden issue of dignity and contempt, which tells the larger story of what’s happening in America today and gives all of us a role to play if we want to be a part of the change.“ @tpyfer@timothyshriver@tomrosshirt
