I miss the days when I could casually post a behind-the-scenes image on IG and conversations would naturally flow in with like-minded creatives. For me, those moments of organic engagement before the algorithm took over, felt like the height of creative artistry where artists truly inspired and supported one another.
With social media fatigue on the rise, I’ve been wondering: what or who continues to inspire you to keep creating?
Lately I’ve been investing my creativity into different outlets and allowing myself the freedom to explore. Perhaps it’s time to return to beauty again. ❤️
Miss your beautiful face @jenna_berman . ✨
P.s. Has anyone seen Kokuho? Do you recommend it?
I created this look for @themakeupshow NYC, drawing inspiration from the final piece of Thierry Mugler’s 1997 Haute Couture collection. The exquisite craftsmanship, sculptural design, and captivating color palette served as my creative foundation. Knowing I had limited time during the live keynote, I spent over a month meticulously hand-sewing hundreds of beads onto sheer fabric, allowing me to pre-construct detailed elements that could be cut and applied directly onto the model on stage. White feathers were airbrushed in two shades of blue to enhance depth and dimension, adding a layered, ethereal quality to the final look. This approach merged precision with performance, bringing high fashion to life in real time. Swipe left to see the preparation process. ✨

Creativity takes time and a certain devotion to the process. It lives in constant exploration, revisiting past ideas and reshaping them through new discoveries.
I spent 8 hours with my longtime muse @jenna_berman@wild.mgmt , experimenting with concepts that have been sitting in my mind. She held space for the process so effortlessly, allowing me to build, layer, and explore freely.
From tinsel lacquered into her hair to hundreds of rhinestones meticulously placed across her face, each element became part of something larger, something ethereal.
The final result was completely unexpected, and that is what made the process so memorable. ✨
Makeup, hair, art direction, and videography by yours truly.

Back at it yesterday with my muse @jenna_berman@wild.mgmt ✨
Behind the scenes experimenting with tinsel hair, obsessed with how it catches the light and compliments the makeup design.
Can’t wait to share the final look and images soon! ✨

Precision meets illusion. ✨
The eyes become a shifting canvas, the design evolving with every eye movement.
The first two images were from a makeup test for my debut on-stage presentation @imatsofficial a few years ago. A moment that sparked an ongoing exploration of structure, detail, and duality in beauty.
Each element was intentionally constructed, layered, sculpted, and extended beyond the face. Handmade embellishments were introduced to the garment to echo the language of the makeup, forming a cohesive visual narrative.
A moment where technique and storytelling converge.

There’s something powerful about the moment a face becomes a canvas.
A few deliberate strokes, the structure shifts, proportions evolve, and the identity begins to blur into something imagined.
This demo was about contrast, softness against precision, skin against graphic form. A porcelain finish that quiets the complexion, paired with exaggerated liner that reshapes the eye entirely.
Makeup has always lived in this space for me, not just about beauty, but about possibility. The ability to create a new narrative, a new character, a new emotion… all within the same face.
In a world where transformation is now instant and digital, there’s still something deeply satisfying about doing it by hand. Every blend, every placement, every detail intentional.
Because real artistry isn’t just about changing how someone looks, it’s about shifting how they’re seen. ✨

15 years ago, I created these wings crystal by crystal, bead by bead, long before AI could generate something like this in seconds.
Looking back, it almost feels like something pulled from today’s digital world. But at the time, it was simply curiosity, patience, and a desire to create something otherworldly by hand.
Funny how the future sometimes ends up looking a lot like the past… just made faster. It makes me wonder, what are we creating today that will feel ahead of its time 15 years from now?
So much has changed.
With all the new products, tools, and technology available today, it’s never been easier to bring ideas to life. But I still believe the real magic comes from pushing your creativity, and constantly leveling up your technical skills.
Curious to hear from you… what are your current ride-or-die products or tools? 🧰✨
During the height of the IG makeup transformation era (2017/2018) and the rise of drag culture online, I had so much fun experimenting with looks on myself. đź’„ Big thanks to @kimchi_chic for sharing some of her fabulous wigs that helped bring these transformations to life. đź’ž
