So much fun to start a new chateau project with really lovely clients!

For one week only, 30 giant Savonnerie carpets and 14 tapestries that were originally made for Louis XIV of France were taken out of storage and displayed together for the first time in 350 years. It was a mammoth undertaking and so spectacular to see the incredible colors that are still so vibrant due to their having been kept in storage for hundreds of years. First photos are of the rugs and the last three photos are details from a few of the tapestries. It’s hard to believe that they were able to achieve such detail in a tapestry. You can actually see the tassel fringe on some of the courtiers clothes (if only @samuelandsons had been around to create them, they would have been even more beautiful). In another of the tapestries, you can actually see the “fringe” open an oriental carpet that is depicted in the tapestry. It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I thought that you would enjoy seeing so many of the close-up photos of these works of art. . . #king #décor #paris #art #louisxiv

So honored to be asked by @modaoperandi what makes a bedroom special. For me, a bedroom should be the ultimate sanctuary where you can escape from the precious of the outside world. I tend to use softer, less jarring, colors to create an atmosphere that is calming to the senses. In the article, they featured these photos from my bedroom in France. I particularly love the wallpaper which I designed for @fromentaldesign because it literally brings the gardens outside the windows into the room. La llegada fue increíble y nos encantó poder estar con vosotros un día antes del photoshooting y descubrir uno de tus restaurantes favoritos en Alençon. Porque este grandísimo señor, que es uno de los diseñadores más importantes del mundo, con sede en #losangeles y #paris ha transformado este tesoro arquitectónico del siglo XVIII en Pays de la Loire en su hogar definitivo en Europa con toda serie de comodidades . Es de las pocas personas que pueden decir que han vivido en cuatro châteaux, cada uno más increíble que el anterior. Además, Corrigan es el único diseñador estadounidense premiado por la Société pour la Protection des Paysages et de l’Esthétique de la France y próximo presidente del comité de la French Heritage Society. Pasear por su jardín, con 66 estatuas repartidas por toda la finca, es uno de sus mayores placeres cuando está en casa, junto con poder compartir momentos únicos con amigos y familiares. Hoy comparte este artículo junto a su íntima amiga, la Baronesa Jacqueline von Hammerstein-Loxten, guardiana de la Pagoda de París @pagodaparis , uno de los edificios más especiales de la capital francesa, dedicado al legado del legendario marchante de arte C.T. Loo. Desde que nos recibieron, sentí una afinidad inmediata con ella. The practice of interior design, is by nature, somewhat ephemeral…much more subject to the whims of the day than a field like Architecture. So you can imagine my delight to find that the faucets and plumbing fittings that I designed for @thgparis are now shown in a museum! As a part of the largest exhibit of Art Deco that has ever been assembled, my art deco- inspired Grand Central collection is being featured at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris @madparis . The collection is going to be in every single one of the famed Orient Express trains and yachts! Here are just a few photos of the incredibly designed new rail cars that will be completed later this year. If you are in Paris anytime before the end of April, you should try to visit this incredible exhibit that fills all three floor floors of the museum. The museum has always been one of my favorite places in Paris and now, it is even more special to me.
