This work is created from photographs of childhood moments. For each work in the series, I use one motif, dissolve the ink from many prints of this one photo by using water and a special process and pour it layer by layer onto watercolor paper. This successively
creates complex overlays and color gradients. From the static photograph and its fixed memory, something new gradually grows.

About the work...
"Went to earth, back in a minute!"
(2023)
The work features photos of my childhood with my brother and those of my own children. Modified by a special analogue method, they dissolve when exposed to water.
In the process, the images are returned to their original state (water and colour) and new,
non-representational shapes emerge on the white paper.
Like influences that shape us in childhood, the choice of colours is made when the photo is taken. Here, however, the moment in our childhood spreads beyond the boundaries
of the print, thus emancipating itself from its anchorage.
This shows that individual moments and phases of life pass, and how change brings about something new. The transformation of our bodies into a river may suggest that we consist primarily of water, and that virtually all life has its origins there. The vibrant abstract forms also remind me of images from outer space.

Started a new series of artworks...strange things are going on, what is it? Imagination or reality? Like in life suddently fixed parts become fluent within these photographs. My kids realise that and get curious. They try to deal with it in their way. How about touching it first!?
This series is called "Plötzlich ist es da" and
is as well inspired by my new favourite books of the summer by Matt Haig, especially "The Life Impossible"
