Hello friends, it’s been almost a year since I dropped a 2 hour A/V mixtape of Boards of Canada fan cuts and disappeared from the internet. On top of an intensely busy personal chapter, the world has been feeling too dark and confusing to engage through a screen. However, the return of @boardsofcanada themselves after 13 years has me refactoring things. “This timeline still has a chance,” said one fan this week - nailing a collective attitude it seems. Seeing our community come alive at the news (like cicadas miraculously emerging after a long prime numbered interval), having friends reach out to share their excitement and use it as a springboard to talk about life and the world…it’s reminded me how much music can mean to us. So, to celebrate this shift in the tide I’m sharing one last clip from the mixtape, highlighting the work of my collaborator Julian (@whirlwindvisuals - video) and fellow Philly producer Shay (@shadymonk_official - audio). You will hear from me again soon. There will be new tunes on the horizon (with @timewheel supporting as always), synth experiments I’m excited to share, and secret third things. (Though I’ve been on radio silence, I’ve been pretty busy.) In these dark hours of the world, bright light can still be found, and art can ignite it like nothing else. What an incredible, deeply necessary feeling. Wishing you all warm hearts, inspired minds, healthy bodies, and a world worthy of celebration. ✨✌🏼🎶
