Non è il bambino che sognava il teatro, alla danza è arrivato quasi per disciplina imposta. Dopo essere entrato in scena, però, non ha potuto più farne a meno. Formatosi tra l’Accademia Nazionale Statale di Riga e il Russian Ballet College di Genova, si è unito al corpo di ballo della Scala nel 2014 ed è primo ballerino dal 2018. Ma qual è la qualità di carattere indispensabile per chi vuole fare davvero questo mestiere? Né talento, né ambizione, risponde: «Il lavoro di ogni giorno è quello che decide”. He wasn’t a kid who grew up dreaming of the theatre – he came to dance almost through imposed discipline. However, once he stepped onto the stage, he couldn’t do without it. After studying at the National State Academy in Riga and the Russian Ballet College in Genoa, he joined the corps de ballet of La Scala in 2014 and became a principal dancer in 2018. But what’s the essential attribute for anyone who truly wants to pursue this profession?
