A little girl’s dream came true on Sunday, even if it was not in the way she planned, which is quite fitting for most things in life actually.
The Olympic Road Race was one of the craziest experiences of my life. The crowds and atmosphere were unlike anything I’d seen and felt before. Absolutely electric! ⚡️
Although I dreamt of a different outcome, ultimately I came to Paris to help achieve the best result possible for our country, South Africa. Physically, I gave it my all, and I can’t ask for much more than that. I know I still have a way to go, but I am more than motivated to take what I learnt from this experience and continue my pursuit of progress.
In life we often find ourselves in situations we did not plan for or expect, it is up to you to let them define you or motivate you to improve.
Whilst one dream is ticked off the list, another lives on, and I’ll keep believing and chipping away ⛏️.
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to represent my country at the pinnacle level in sport. Racing through the streets of Paris past iconic landmarks, to have my family and friends here to cheer for me, as well as the immense support from home and all over the world was so so special. It was a privilege to race alongside @ashleighcycling and it was a day that will forever be etched into my memory.
Thank you, South Africa ❤️🇿🇦.

Mega day to race a bike! 🤯
Sharing a podium with the World Champ is what my ten-year-old self could only dream of.
Thank you @hutchinson_brotheruk and all the girls for the great teamwork helping make this one stick 💖

My first @ctcycletour win. What a feeling! What a race! 🏆
The last few weeks I have been trying to find my fire again. It has been far from smooth sailing, but that is what made yesterday’s result feel all the more rewarding.
This race is always a highlight on the calendar every year, and to be armed with self-belief on a day when everything clicked together, was absolutely incredible. These good days make up for every single one of the more challenging ones, and I’m elated I could pull this one off, executing a race that I’m proud of.
Awesome, positive racing from the entire women’s field this year, and my breakaway partners who were committed to the fight till the end 🔥.
I have nothing but gratitude for all the messages and support I’ve received. Thank you everyone ❤️
What a beautiful day to race a bike. This one is still sinking in!

All smiles to be back at the races!!! 🤩
Sidelined the last few weeks due to injury just when the Euro season was kicking off was not a situation I’d ever found myself in before. Watching races I’d hoped to be doing on livestreams & TV felt really strange and it also made me more motivated to come back stronger ⏳
We took it one step at a time with the recovery process for my hand, not overdoing it too soon and thankfully, my body has healed well. I can only thank my support team and @david.a.deklerk for his guidance to help us get back on track 🦾
Spent the time away from racing focusing on injury rehab, quality training time in the sun (@ao_cycling 📈), catching up with friends off the bike and most importantly maintaining enjoyment in the process.
Take 2 of the Euro season kicks off with @festivalelsyjacobs in Luxembourg this weekend 🇱🇺 two race opportunities to get back into the swing of things. Looking forward to being back with my @dashutchinson team 🩵

Fun day out at @ctcycletour 🤩
125 women took to the start on Sunday, which is an awesome feat for South African cycling! 🇿🇦
17km in, a group of 12 of us broke away and battled to the finish together; the sign of an aggressive and positive race right till the very end! Even getting within a minute of the course record in windy conditions 🌬️
I had so much fun out there and having my family and friends at the finish and en-route definitely added extra morale ❤️
Although the sprint didn’t play out exactly how I wanted, we take the learnings from each experience and move forward. It was a privilege to share the podium with these strong women! 🔥 Can’t wait to come back next year and try again 👊
Happy to see the training starting to pay off and now it’s full focus on what’s next: Europe, here we come! 🫡
