I came into the show last night and set up quick because I was well organized, but then I rushed to get my table off the stage and just tossed all my cables into the big case that @stuhaightvideo gave me At least they’re multicolored, so untangling this mess shouldn’t be a total clusterf*ck. Also I got heavy use out of this case he gave me that carried a tripod and a mic stand. The tripod got used to make allies out of the other bands when they used it to shoot videos with their phones.
Come to the spot on our porch a lot for inspiration. Usually it’s me with my guitar during the daytime, but I think I found a new synth spot. Something about the cool air and the streetlights makes me want to write spooky music, even in the spring.
I’ve got a Tidy Demon show on April 18, and the only realistic way for me to make it is rideshare. So today I did a different kind of run through. I practiced traveling light.
From experience, no matter how good the venue is, I always bring a few essentials just in case. Extension cord, power strip, mic, and a mic stand. Those are non negotiable.
The plan is to run my vocals through my looper, have the sound tech mic the bell, and send a clean stereo signal from the looper. I’ll monitor everything through headphones, or my IEMs if I can get them dialed in.
