Was für ein Abend! 💛 Ein riesiges Dankeschön an alle, die den 39. abseite Konzertabend am 18.04.2026 in der Lippstädter Woldemei-Passage zu etwas Besonderem gemacht haben. Ein riesen Gruß und Dank geht raus an die wunderbaren @deadfinks & TICS ( @tics_tics_tics ) für den Wahnsinns-Sound und überhaupt für euer dabei sein und an alle Gäste, die bewiesen haben: In Lippstadt geht richtig was! Liebes Publikum Besonders beeindruckt hat uns euer Einsatz – viele von euch sind von weit her angereist, um die Bands live zu erleben. Das wissen wir und die Künstler:innen sehr zu schätzen. Danke für diesen Support! Ein großes Lob auch an die fleißigen Hände beim Auf- und Abbau; ohne eure Hilfe wäre so ein Event nicht stemmbar. Ebenfalls danke an V&K Optik, dass wir die Woldemei-Passage nutzen durften – wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und die Location war einfach spitze. TICS (Post Punk, Köln) „Eine kleine Offenbarung, auf der viele lose Enden aus 40 Jahren Punk auf großartige Weise zusammenfinden.“ (Jens Uthoff/TAZ) Unruhe als Zeichen der Zeit, Unruhe aber auch als Motor, als Bewegung, als Spiegel - das bleibt das Prinzip der Band @tics_tics_tics und ihrer Arbeit. Und zeigt sich eben auch in der Besetzung: Nach einigen Wechseln und neuen Bandmitgliedern ist die Formation zum Quintett angewachsen und intensiviert mit einem Percussionisten den rastlosen Post Punk-Sound ihrer letzten Werke, der u.a. auf gemeinsamen Konzerten mit SLEAFORD MODS, SWEEPING PROMISES, IAN SVENONIOUS, WARMDUSCHER etc präsentiert wurde und wird. Die Band pflegt schon eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit Thomas Götz, originär Schlagzeuger der BEATSTEAKS - in seiner „Freizeit“ jedoch enthusiastischer Betreiber des kleinen DIY-Labels TOMATENPLATTEN. Selbiger zeichnete sich auch verantwortlich für die Aufnahme der aktuellen 3song-EP, die wieder von Olaf O.P.A.L. gemixed wurde und auf MÖRTEL SOUNDS erschienen ist. All artists are unique in their own way and sometimes sadly overlooked. So check them out on bandcamp and give em some love! Although I really love vinyl records, releasing them can get a little bit tedious from time to time. The whole process is more rigid, time consuming and quite expensive nowadays, which makes it hard to keep the selling price down. Vinyl records are increasingly becoming an absolute luxury item, which is kind of sad. Despite all my doubts about that medium on Mörtel, 2026 will start with an absolutely milestone record. At least for me, personally. More about MöS.LP.009 later. For the rest of 2026 I'll try to focus more on cassettes, despite 1 or 2 other, already planned records. And sorry for the crappy pictures. All the moving parts fit together more seamlessly than ever before, with the opener Clad Faun probably being stylistically closest to the Minutemen and Gang Of Four-informed post punk of their early work. At the same time, however, they are increasingly opening up to a range of influences, quite a few of which I would place in the Dischord universe of the '90s, namely on the one hand its more melodic outgrowths á la Fire Party and Autoclave, but as the album progresses, many of the more "typical" acts á la Jawbox, Hoover, Smart Went Crazy, Bluetip and Kerosene 454 have certainly left their mark, along with other giants of the '90s such as Polvo, Unwound and Chavez. At the same time, however, I also think I can hear echoes of more recent events, such as Australian and New Zealand bands like Die! Die!
