Finally took a long skinny 'weave' off the frame today. Pleased cause tis super flexible and strong! Will eventually be part of something bigger. Learning as I go here! The text is important. More on that later. Book pages on hand knitted string and conservation paper with acorn cups. As you do?! #slowwork #paperweaving #workinprogress #textere #recrafting

Looking up in Valencia. Just back. Head spinning. Just SO much! Did not understand true rococco before! Pulled from the past and stretched into the modern. More coming. Once I've disentangled it all a bit more... Very lucky! #touristing #valencia #ceilings #focusingup #craftsmanship

'My hands are my Voice'. Such a beautiful and moving show on @the_beaney ! A textile designer daughter's homage to her designer mother. So fascinating to see the threads that connect them, even after death; also the legacy of this powerful relationship being passed on to others, through craft. Show is on til May 17th. Hope you can rest soon @with_and_without_diana . Amazing stuff. Thankyou! #textilesexhibition #workingthroughgrief #craftlanguage #inheritedcraft

Happy afternoon up in the hills making placards for the @togetheralliance march on Saturday. When so much feels madly out of kilter the pleasure of hand-making with friends, cake and tea is a balm. Thankyou so much Simon and @jackiebrown4595 . And for letting us use your beautiful studio @catherinerobinsonart ! See you on the train! #artistssupportingartists #together #marchforunity #Folkestoneartists #handmaking

Joys of a small town museum! A quirky mix of Anglo saxon bones, headless victorians, shrapnel, rocks, dead moths, broken pots, fixed pots.... and on a saturday, loads of kids making popsicle-stick trebuchet's. Also houses Folkestone's only public gallery space. Lovely to see it used by a local artist. Below are my treasures. Lucky to have this place: must pop in more often! 1. Skull from a whole skeleton of a woman found when digging a road nearby 2. Dinosaur footprint - they lived here too! 3. Fancy victorian ostrich egg ornament?! 4. Giant ammonite - one of many 5. Roman pot with fossilised worms 6. Amazing pot puzzle! 7. Someone's butterfly collection 8. 12 legged sea creature 9-12. Details from ' For the Love of Nature' exhibition by @deborahcroftsart 13. Famous painting of Folkestone citizens welcoming Belgian Refugees. So love this! Thankyou @folkestone_museum !
