This has been, to date, one of my favourite shoots and the first time I directed a set, which was easy to do when the subject was Duncan Brown in his stunning, well-crafted and elegant first collection.
The shoot deck largely referenced costume designer and photographer Cecil Beaton, who appears suited in many of his self portraits.
With Duncan’s design style focused around expert craftsmanship, functionality and elegance, we set out to capture the collection with a simplistically, focusing on the textures and sculptural elements of the pieces, such as the boiled wool suit.

I had the most fun co-shooting this with my friend @bell0f and was the first time I was shooting in conjunction with someone else. I’m a massive control freak but this shoot really showed me that collaboration delivers the best results.
Drawing from the tops halterneck cut, we drew references from the sixties, mainly Bob Fosse’s ‘Sweet charity’ making it slightly more contemporary opting for a minimalist styling and limited colour range to compliment BellByBell’s eye catching orange strip.

This is a long overdue post, but in march I had the privilege of shooting @the_crollas for my zine @firstdraftzine .
Informed by early images of the Sex Pistols I sought to create an atmosphere of nostalgia, editing the photos in black and white and using grain to give the allusion that The Crollas were being shot on film.
The rest of the photos will be in a pt 2. because of instagrams weird formatting :)
