I’m not saying the Broadway League and the American Theatre wing always get things wrong, but occasionally – OCCASIONALLY! – they do get some things right. Very, very right. And this is one of those times. Congratulations, Jake Bell.
Broadway wouldn’t be Broadway without you.

Joe Turner’s Come and Gone
by August Wilson
When I walked into the Barrymore Theater on Wednesday evening, and looked up at the gorgeous set of the interior Seth and Bertha’s boarding house the first thought that entered my mind was:
I’m going to see a play tonight.
And I did.
An inspiring, powerful, GREAT American play — One for the ages.
Theatre with a capital “T”.
Every performance is stellar - but I’m not sure I have enough superlatives about Reuben Santiago-Hudson’s - it’s not just about the craft of acting done to perfection, but an effortless display of an actor’s love of the craft, of the material, of the role, of the audience, of the moment - Every second is simply astonishing.
