So pleased with the kids dragon eggs! Such a wonderful little hub of creativity - so much character in each little dragon 🐉 🥚
Outside have great kids classes this Easter break - including introduction to throwing - Get booking!
Shaped like a river stone, with a gentle dimple that welcomes cold hands. The matte glaze feels like driftwood, soft and worn by time. A thumb stopper crowns the handle, a small detail for balance - I like the idea that the mug is as comforting in your hands as the warmth inside!
Glaze combo: Mustard & Pewter

👋 Hi I’m Brogan ❤️
I am an experienced Art, Design and Ceramic teacher. I’ve been teaching Art and Design since 2013 in secondary schools in London/Caribbean and in the last few years ceramic classes for adults in Hackney. I’ve recently moved to South Devon and I am so excited to start teaching down here!!!!!
The first course I will be teaching is at my favourite hang out spot - Outside. I’m running a 10 week introduction to Hand-building.
For those who don’t know what this entails: hand building is essentially work entirely made by hand and not on the wheel. I’ll be covering traditional techniques such as pinch pots, coiling and slab construction. We will make vases, plates, mugs and much more. You are always welcome to bring your own ideas to explore!!
Classes start on the 21st Jan and there are a few spaces left 🥰 come join the wonderful community here, make new friends and some beautiful things.

Packing up our shared studio space at @cernamic it was formative, humbling and incredibly joyful - I made such quick progress here after a slow start. The studio has a fantastic buzz, and it quickly felt like a second home. 💘
Joe got a true potters hug from Nam as we said goodbye, the clay dust handprints cracked me up😅
It’s no secret I didn’t enjoy being back in London - but the saving grace was Skandihus. I started taking classes in 2019 and slowly, over time, started volunteering as a mentor. Eventually I started teaching.
For 9 years I was a secondary Art and Design teacher - I loved it. I was so proud of everything I had achieved in those 9 years both in the UK and in the Cayman Islands, but I became quite unwell towards the end of my career, and totally depleted. I made the decision to leave teaching and at the time, I had no regrets about doing so. I knew I’d miss working with the kids but what I didn’t realise is how inextricably linked my sense of self worth and purpose was tied to teaching. I had a year off, I completed my Ashtanga & Hatha yoga TTC in India, a Permaculture design course in Andalusia, and volunteered in gardens on the remote Scottish Island of Erraid. Once I was back, I found some alternative work. Work that I could shut the laptop lid at the end of the day and keep the cortisol levels low, but I had never been more depressed.
Skandihus provided balance, it helped me regain my confidence as a maker and teacher once more. I met the most wonderful community and made dear friends.
Now I’ve moved to South Devon I’ve had to say goodbye to this London chapter, but I’m so grateful and thankful for the magic that is working with the earth, in community and being able to share this with others. @skandihus_london@skandihus_classes if you are in london, and fancy trying out ceramics check out SkandiHus and all that they offer.
A special shout out to our wonderful teacher @vvceramics Joe and I miss your classes 🩵
Chris, Co and I had the privilege of having the entire ceramic floor to ourselves in the v&a last summer. Chris’ tutor at goldsmiths had work there alongside some of the giants! 🏺 🏺 🏺
A potters tour of Japan ❤️🍵☕️ featuring raku workshops, traditional kilns of Mashiko and various photos of interest. This was the best trip of my life - I loved every moment & learnt so much. Japanese ceramics continue to inspire my work everyday
