It’s hard to put our experience at @sandpointpridefest into words. It’s just such a special event. So many people pouring their hearts out into organizing, performing, playing, singing, dancing, and especially in these times and this part of the country, the end result is something truly powerful and euphoric. The drag queens were amazing. It’s always so heartwarming to see queers of all ages safely and joyfully in their truths. And when we hit the stage, OH MY LAWD! So electric. And to top it all off, @lilurbain performed with the BANGING headliner super-lady-group @sideboobpdx who just tore the house down. And three of them were pregnant! Women really can do anything. Last night was…something else. About a month ago, our bassist Erik stopped at a bar/vintage store/coffee shop in the 100 person town of Austin, NV. There he met Ty, a bright-eyed, burner, bar owner who suggested we pop this little spot in our return out. So, four days ago we decided to go for it, and what a ridiculous, unhinged, playful, wonderful night it was. The stage was too small so Erik played in a tiny window above the stage. We found four choir robes in the vintage section so we all wore them. A kitten roamed freely around the bar top. We partook in pickleback to Nickleback and maple/apple cider shots. @lilurbain sang striding along the bar top. Patrons stomped and danced and literally flung each other around the dance floor. We soaked in natural hot springs after the show among the sound of wild braying donkeys. Good reminder: take chances on small towns. NCAC 2026 will take place from May 14th through 17th, and we’ll be kicking off their year on March 13th! Come enjoy free live music by @kristenfordmusic and @thrownoutbones starting at 8 pm.
