Tomorrow I’ll be part of a songwriting sharing at
@thecardiganarms as part of
@throughlinesleeds . I’ve been working on this song, which I’m excited to share. It’s about being part of a queer chosen family and observing the real grief so many in the queer community experience trying to navigate their adult lives alongside family of origin. It’s been hard to write, but refreshing to put it into the little tuppoware container songs can be (weird metaphor? But trying to articulate the sense that songs keep tricky things safe to explore and access?)
ANYWAY, really looking forward to sharing the night with
@sunflowerthieves (who I went to uni with back in the day and who I think are v cool) and
@annekashelley who’s music I’ve been enjoying discovering through this cool gig! Was also put together by
@hgsorme who’s also super cool (fun fact, first gig I ever saw in Leeds was Harry supporting Emily Portman and I was HOOKED)
