MATA-NE is finally progressing! This project was meant to be completed last year, but due to personal challenges and scheduling conflicts, I haven’t been able to fulfil my promise. However, this year, I’m determined to finish it and deliver a film that I hope will be a memorable experience for everyone. We are soon to enter the online stage of the edit; the music, colour grade and sound design/mix are the final touches this film needs before we start submitting it to festivals. THE MORNING COMES | 朝が来る (TRAILER) This short little film I have made recently came out of nowhere. At first, I aimlessly filmed some things during a little family getaway down south of Sydney with the intent of it being just a camera test. Once I reviewed the footage, I found that there was a potential narrative I could thread amongst it all. I indulged in this curiosity and I have come out with something in the vein of a no dialogue film portrait. I am proud to have whipped this out in the span of two weeks, the final touch I need is music and I will be collaborating with a trusted friend and talent @iamdylanreid to give it the auditory layer it needs as the icing on the cake. I’ve been juggling quite a few films this year on top of my short film MATA-NE, and am excited to share some screen grabs for another project I had the pleasure to work on earlier this year. . TO SPARK A WILDFIRE is a film I directed and we’re currently in post production. It’s been a slow but rewarding process. . I hope to have many more experiences akin to this one, and can’t really believe I’ll be on shoot again in just two weeks for MATA-NE.
