Posted @withregram • @arriaustralia “I chose the ARRI Signature Zoom lenses for a recent studio job that involved us swinging off a Scorpio telescopic crane for a few days. Like most shoots theses days the storyboards were extensive and the hours not enough so I had to go with zooms to negate constant lens changes.
I’ve used the Signature Primes many times with Cinoptix’s Arri LF but this was the first time I used the zoom lenses. My initial worry about too deep a T Stop and therefore a flat looking image was pretty much extinguished the moment I saw an image. These zooms are fast, lightweight and are really stunning. There aren’t many zoom lenses that give you a prime lens look and feel but these definitely do. I’m glad I took Cinoptix advice on these lenses, both myself and my very talented 1st AC Matt Spowart were incredibly impressed.”

One of the biggest advantages of using our Bolt is that we can achieve multiple pass shots with ease as well as adding some smooth transitions between scenarios.
For this shoot we had two different scenes which we were able to transition between by programming fast panning / flicking moves with our arm. Here is a rig model for reference to show exactly how the bolt is moving to achieve this! 🤖🔥
What better way to utilise our Bolt by shooting 3 music videos in one day? We recently shot 3 promotional music videos incorporating Australian artists who were handpicked by @bringagency to promote @nba2k
Working with Director @gabrielgasparinatos and DoP @tysonfperkinsdp we were able to employ multiple aspects of the Bolt in our shoot, including synching LED lights, using multiple pass takes while being stitching in post and of course, high speed moves! 🤖
