âThe idea of family back to backs came about because I was interviewing our friend Luma who runs Habiti Nation who explained to me how she got into DJing because her dad had bought her a controller when she was 12 or 13. This sounded crazy to me and quite different, as itâs not something that happened at home. A lot of our musical heritage comes from our parents and grandparents, whether itâs dancing, or listening to music that our family shared with us. When people play live music or DJ, theyâre always bringing that heritage with them. Itâs interesting to acknowledge that and offer a space where people can play with their parents and share that knowledge together.â

We're headed out to Vienna this weekend, collaborating on a radio stream and club night with @callshopradio - a multi-studio station who have been running a wonderful programme inviting like-minded stations from other countries to @fluccvienna . Looking forward to a weekend of radio escapades in the midst of our current hiatus.
Since our full broadcast pause last September, we've been working and deliberating behind the scenes. What's next? We don't have those answers ready to share far and wide today, but please get in touch with us if you'd like to be involved in the next phase, we move and we grow.

EDITORIAL // @maevedba reviews Contrafacts at @referencepoint180
"If âall art is politicalâ, as weâve grown accustomed to hearing, then what are the politics of bubblegum pop? Of the chirpy sincerity of early Beatles love songs, or of the hyperproduced hot-mess aesthetics of the instant-classic of the summer, Charli XCXâs BRAT?
These are the questions that Nicholas Mroczkowski (Nicko) poses to his audience, slouching in his chair, guitar-in-lap, under a dim red LED glow in a corner of Reference.Point in central London. Behind him, his band â an unconventional ensemble, comprising Daniel Kabanov (keys), Arnold Chukwu (clarinet/voice), EKAS (electronics/voice), Sravudh Tanhai (electric bass), Luke Soden (upright bass), Ben Vince (alto saxophone), Will Reubin (drums), and poets Phoenix Yemi and Arcadia Molinas â listens intently, sometimes expressing their agreement."
