EDITORIAL // @maevedba chatted with the sibling founders of @dancingfamilyrecords Festival, Tatiana & Yohan. 📖 LINK IN BIO “The idea of family back to backs came about because I was interviewing our friend Luma who runs Habiti Nation who explained to me how she got into DJing because her dad had bought her a controller when she was 12 or 13. This sounded crazy to me and quite different, as it’s not something that happened at home. A lot of our musical heritage comes from our parents and grandparents, whether it’s dancing, or listening to music that our family shared with us. When people play live music or DJ, they’re always bringing that heritage with them. It’s interesting to acknowledge that and offer a space where people can play with their parents and share that knowledge together.” If you’re interested in heading to their festival next summer, Super Early Bird tickets for 2026 are now available here: https://ra.co/events/2226178?p=SEB2026.

We're headed out to Vienna this weekend, collaborating on a radio stream and club night with @callshopradio - a multi-studio station who have been running a wonderful programme inviting like-minded stations from other countries to @fluccvienna . Looking forward to a weekend of radio escapades in the midst of our current hiatus. Since our full broadcast pause last September, we've been working and deliberating behind the scenes. What's next? We don't have those answers ready to share far and wide today, but please get in touch with us if you'd like to be involved in the next phase, we move and we grow. 🇦🇹 here we come 📡

We are delighted to invite you to a wonderful evening, featuring Michelle Manetti (Adonis, UK) and Threads Radio (London, UK). This event will be the last ever Threads Radio event - the end of an era! Watch out in the coming months for their next developments. 🗓 Saturday 12th April 2025 📍 Flucc (Deck) ⏰ Radio Show: 18h-22h (Free entry) ⏰ Club Night: 22h-late (€10 << 22:00 >> €15) Michelle Manetti is a true legend of the London queer scene, resident DJ at infamous queer rave, Adonis, and host of Fèmmme Fraîche, where she has invited guests, such as Honey Dijon, Peach, OK Williams, Rroxymore and Joyce Muniz. Threads Radio is an influential community radio station, historically tied to the celebrated London venue, The Cause. They focus on showcasing grassroots culture from across the globe and fundraising for important social topics. Co-founders, Medallion Man and LKF, will be serving up a fine selection of club music, drawing from the UK and far beyond. To our pleasure, Callshop Radio founder Kaspar van de Water will be visiting us from Düsseldorf and round up the roster of this collaboration. If you are experiencing a difficult financial situation (e.g. unemployed, low income), please DM @spumanterecords on Instagram so that we can ensure that you can attend the event! See you there! ♥️ Threads Radio x Callshop Radio: presented by Spumante Records

EDITORIAL // Reginald BoClair has been serving a life prison sentence since 1993. Yet, through @pnap_il , he has found purpose in the need to know. Neomi Rao, who met BoClair in 2023, offers another publication of his work. From the eyes of an Imprisoned Black Radical, “FREEDOM” explores Deep Howze Musiks impact on Black and Latino queer culture and an Afrofuturism past confinement and domination, the same as an original Deep Howze Party. “Though sentenced to die in prison, we are alive.” Full Article 🔗 IN BIO

INTERVIEW // Josefus Haze explores his talks with the prominent and self-dubbed “Outsider Artist” @alanstreets in this two-way interview. “Creators like Alan do not exist outside of society as much as they stand directly at its centre, with humanity and its machinations spiralling around them like the spokes of a wheel.” Struggles with schizophrenia, regretful documentaries, NYC in the 80s, and an exploration of religion offer a glimpse into the undulating story of Streets. EDITORIAL // @maevedba reviews Contrafacts at @referencepoint180 "If ‘all art is political’, as we’ve grown accustomed to hearing, then what are the politics of bubblegum pop? Of the chirpy sincerity of early Beatles love songs, or of the hyperproduced hot-mess aesthetics of the instant-classic of the summer, Charli XCX’s BRAT? These are the questions that Nicholas Mroczkowski (Nicko) poses to his audience, slouching in his chair, guitar-in-lap, under a dim red LED glow in a corner of Reference.Point in central London. Behind him, his band – an unconventional ensemble, comprising Daniel Kabanov (keys), Arnold Chukwu (clarinet/voice), EKAS (electronics/voice), Sravudh Tanhai (electric bass), Luke Soden (upright bass), Ben Vince (alto saxophone), Will Reubin (drums), and poets Phoenix Yemi and Arcadia Molinas – listens intently, sometimes expressing their agreement."
