Loved spending some time with the fantastic @nat_his_con at Communicate and delivering a workshop last week at the museum of science and industry in Manchester. The first of three in person events over the week and online sessions throughout.
The theme this year was ‘Against the Odds’ with hundreds working in and around environmental communications coming together - discussing some of the challenges but most of all how we overcome them.
I was thrilled my session ‘The future is calling, are you listening?’ was packed full of people wanting to better engage youth audiences and embrace the opportunities to do so in a way that helps platform, collaborate and support young people. Lots of discussion, some great ideas and I hope we’ll be seeing some of them across the sector in months to come.

The #SandwellStory - Bringing together a campaign to celebrate a place, one that champions it externally, connects locally and inspires individually. It had to start with something that felt true to the area; its collective identity and each of its towns represented.
They also happen to have one of the country’s youngest populations and youth voice and opportunity needed to be at its heart. And you know I love a project that values youth audiences.
