FebruaRYE Day 9 🇺🇸
With a 95/5 rye mashbill, I suspect this is an MGP high rye whiskey, which is always good. The label reminded me of Bad Company’s Straight Shooter album cover, hence the song choice from the same album.
If it wasn’t for MGP Rye Whiskey the RYEvolution wouldn’t be where it is today, that’s for sure!

FebruaRYE Day 7 🇺🇸
Another rye from Hard Truth Distilling of Nashville, Indiana. With a mash billl of 55% rye, 36% corn, 9% malted barley, this is bottled at 46.5% abv, and is just a good (responsibly) gluggable sweet mash rye.

FebruaRYE Day 6 🇺🇸
Hard Truth Distilling Co. is a new distillery for me, and I’m unsure of its availability in the UK. Originating in 2015, the distillery started small in the upper rooms of Big Woods Pizza Co. in downtown Nashville, Indiana. Rapid growth quickly followed, leading to the construction of a new, state-of-the-art facility on a 325-acre wooded property about a mile away. Hard Truth Distilling Co. moved to this new location in the fall of 2018, where it has since been producing its spirits using a sweet mash process.
Their debut sweet mash whiskey was the Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye Whiskey. This process uses entirely fresh ingredients for each batch. The mash bill is 94% rye and 6% malted barley. Despite its high 62.5% ABV, the whiskey is so beautifully balanced that you wouldn’t guess its strength. I definitely want to try more ryes in this style! Today marks the day that I’m no longer working @milroysofspitalfields .
I was very fortunate to be part of the opening of their latest venture and had an absolute blast over the last year so, even through these difficult times.
