Join us next week, March 22nd, as NTHNL makes his way to Milwaukee to celebrate the release of “What Kind of World is This?” Joined by White Dune, Thomas Wincek, and Andy Fitzpatrick, this will be a talent-packed night of ambient and electronic soundscapes.
Having produced electronic and acoustic music in a variety of contexts since 2012, NTHNL’s work currently straddles both healing and contemporary creative spheres, leading regular sound baths as well as collaborative concerts. His mastery of the flute, piano, and woodwind instruments has been featured in projects by Pons, Cola Boyy, Laura Wolf, and Liturgy, and met with wide critical acclaim that describes his productions as “genre-defying” and transportive.
White Dune is the electronic music project of Minneapolis drummer Dave Power. He makes downtempo, ambient, and IDM music inspired by the likes of Boards of Canada, Andy Stott, The Field, Aphex Twin, and other electronic music visionaries.
Andrew Fitzpatrick is a musician whose work includes collaborations with Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, and All Tiny Creatures. His solo music incorporates guitar, synthesizers, field recordings, and electronic processing.
Thomas Wincek operates in a number of disparate projects, usually behind a keyboard with any number of synthesizers and effects alongside him. As a member of indie projects Field Report and Volcano Choir—both of which boast several standout Wisconsin musicians—Wincek contributes a melodic keyboard line, often adding electronic textures and sonic intricacies that push these projects beyond songwriting and musicianship.

Paige Alice Naylor is an experimental vocalist, sound artist, and technologist. Through sound-making and performance, she investigates the dissolution of time, the breakdown of language, and themes of death & rebirth by way of multichannel sound, electronically processed voice, handmade electronics, and repetitive, layered production. She has performed at Rewire Festival (NL), Variations Festival (FR), Public Records (NYC), The Lab (SF), amongst others. Her work has been featured in The Wire, NPR, Longform Editions, NewCity Art, Chicago Reader, and others.

Under the moniker Emotional Joystick, Wincek has recorded a catalogue of breakbeat-centered electronic music—an erratic, unhinged take on EBM.

Lorna Dune is an acclaimed electronic musician, synthesist and sound designer. Known for her innovative fusion of electronic soundscapes and contemporary classical roots, she has captivated audiences worldwide with musical work that spans ambient, orchestral, electronic dance and experimental realms. She is currently a technical sound designer for software development teams conducting neuroscience research in sound’s role in health and wellness.
Happy #303day for all who celebrate. Here are pics and audio from when @benjaminderickson and I borrowed a couple things (including @craigkroeger ‘s tb-303 and @dartanjal ‘s tr-909) and covered Hardfloor’s Acperience 1 almost a decade and a half (!!!!) ago. Link in bio if you want to hear the whole thing (and a rad mixtape).

Known for his work with All Tiny Creatures - and remembered by many as Emotional Joystick or Richdad - Thomas Wincek is an electronic music mastermind in every form he takes. His fingerprints run across decades of Midwest experimental and electronic sound, from glitch-charged beatcraft to shimmering, delicate structures that bend the room in unexpected ways.
