Dedicated to one of kindest, funniest and most gracious toy photographers/toy collectors I’ve had the privilege of getting to know.
@tusken_traders was literally one of the very first people to like one of my first posts on Instagram.
I remember Ryan (Tusken) saying this whole toy photography thing was new to him too. He was already a professional level photographer and we’d shared stories of our black & white location photographs and dibbling into wedding photos back in the day.
Those pics seemed like “legitimate” photography in the art sense and we were discussing how taking photos of toys just seemed a bit weird. But that we’d throw each other support on this new journey.
We each kept posting and encouraging each other. Tusken told me about a chat group that he’d joined that was helping him build his confidence in doing this Instagram thing. Ryan asked if I’d be down to check it out, and I said yes.
The chat group didn’t seem that bad at first glance but Tusken and I soon discovered some toxicity coming from one individual (I shall not name) that had us second guessing the Instagram platform.
Then one day Ryan asked if starting a a group chat with some of the other new to Instagram toy photographers would be a good idea and something I’d be interested in being a part of. Of course I said yeah, as long as you’re the leader brotha. He told me “I’ll organize it but I’m not the leader that ain’t my style (again reflecting Ryan’s graciousness).
Well he started that chat and through it I was introduced to a brotherhood if you will of other toy photographers that continue to bring smiles to my face to this day. Of course I never stopped considering Ryan Tusken Traders as our leader, after all he’d brought us all together like Nick Fury( but with the presence of Captain America).
So when I say I know I wouldn’t even be doing this if it weren’t for meeting Tusken Traders I mean that. You will be missed my friend. You were not only an amazing toy photographer, but your were also an amazing person.
Prayers, positivity, love and attempts at understanding the sorrow pain and suffering of this most to his wife, son and family. Love you brotha, rest easy.

This Sunday Lazy Boyz returns and Anya just got her second mutation Telekinesis!!
Many years ago, a group of friends gathered together at the scared place of thought and discovery…. The couch. And upon this great item of luxury, ideas were exchanged, photos were developed and greatness appeared to shine through but, the comfort of that one item was too great… as the friends sunk deeper into the soft cushions, the ideas became less frequent and snacks over took the process until one finally stood up and shouted “F Your Couch”!!!! And that is how the revolution began!!! Join the artists as we are reminded that though the couch is comfortable, it is a thing of laziness….
