Last night @amanda_alonzo and I got to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. We got to see @spaceykacey up close at the historic Gruene Hall. It was a fun night with positive vibes all around.
Kacey played her entire new album live for the first time and threw in a few extras like Tu Solo Tu alongside @themariachibrothers who were detained by ICE and her version of All My Exes. The best part was her encore of Slow Burn which no one expected.
Amanda and I had our first dance at our wedding to Butterflies and are big fans. It’ll be hard to top this one. #KaceyMusgraves #MiddleOfNowhere

As a parent, sometimes it’s hard to make time for the things you once loved. I used to always take photos but I didn’t realize how long it had been since I made it a point to do it. Being a parent is busy. It’s not always overwhelming but it’s a different kind of busy where you have to learn how to manage your energy and be more intentional with your time.
When Mia was born I bought a little camera, determined to take photos of everything but that didn’t last long. This year, I found that camera again and I’m making it a point to take more photos and make it work with family life. (It also helps that the kids are getting older) If you see me posting more photos, that’s why. Life’s too short.
Here are some I took during our recent trip to the coast.
On Mother’s Day, our son wrote in a card that Amanda has the most positive energy in our home and always makes sure everyone is having a good time. Amanda chose to spend Mother’s Day weekend at the coast, and sure enough, we had a blast. They love having her as a mom and I do too. Happy belated Mother’s Day, Amanda.
Today was Matthew’s last band performance of the year. He was happy to make second chair and received an award for being an outstanding student. We’re proud of him for all the hard work he puts into his music.
I didn’t expect to be posting this, but I’m honored to be named the Alamo Colleges District Distinguished Employee of the Month.
More than 10 years ago, I started as an intern at Palo Alto College and knew it was where I wanted to be. Today, I’m grateful for all the amazing people I’ve met and for the opportunity to do meaningful work, using my creativity to serve our community and support the Alamo Colleges moonshot to end poverty through education and training.
