If you’ve ever seen one of our shows, you’ll know that we like to wear our heart on our sleeve, you will also have witnessed one of these: a PD hug.🫂 An unplanned artistic signature, over the years we have used hugs generously in our storytelling, because that’s what has always felt right.🫶 This mental health awareness month, we’re encouraging people to take a moment to connect with someone else, be that with a hug, or a text or a catch up, because everyone deserves to feel loved, and to know that they are cared for💕

A destination without its path…✈️💭 More often than not, our creative team finds themselves devising a show’s title and identity, before the show even exists… Typically for others, this is the puzzle piece that comes last, after a full show has been created. It’s so important to get this step right, because it sets the tone for the entire production, even if some of it doesn’t exist yet. 📝 We work with an incredible team to achieve each show’s own personality. We create mood boards, colour palettes and typography inspiration until we begin to carve a world that feels right…🎨🖌️ We love working with collaborators who understand our work, and care as much about getting it right as we do. Together, we work to push and challenge even what we think it capable. Developing the artwork for Things I’ve Never Said was no different. 🎶📣 ANNOUNCEMENT📣🎶 Over the past 18 months, the company has embarked on an inspiring, innovative and earnest journey with music, where we have explored how developing original work can better shape our stories and resonate with our audiences. 💭 In January, we presented More Than Dance, an undercover experiment to see how live music impacted our company’s work and our audience’s experience. The short story is, it was incredible.🎶 This summer, not only will Things I’ve Never Said boast an original score, the production will feature LIVE MUSIC - and we are so incredibly excited.🎤🎹🎻🎸 #ThingsIveNeverSaid

This week, we were overjoyed to learn that an Early Day Motion had been submitted to Parliament calling for recognition and support for Project Dance and the work we do to support and empower young people. ✨ Submitted by @adam4yeovil , the motion reads: “That this House celebrates the continued success of the Project Dance Charity Foundation, which was founded by James Bamford at just 14 years old, in making performing arts more accessible and inclusive for students of all backgrounds; further congratulates James Bamford on his success in inspiring and motivating young performers… …recognises the importance of championing the arts in rural and semi-rural areas such as Yeovil and South Somerset… … and urges the Government to similarly strengthen its support for local arts services.” 🔗To read the full motion, click the link in our bio We would like to express our enormous thanks to Adam and his team, who continue to passionately support the arts in South Somerset, and to Yeovil Town Council, for their recent provision of a £2000 grant for Project Dance to expand its education provision in Yeovil. 🩵🏠
