I’ve wanted to go to the San Siro since I was a kid. Obsessed by the likes of Van Basten, Maldini, and Baresi running about the place. It was a time when all the best players in the world were in Italy, and the best of the best probably called this stadium home.
Delighted that this dream finally came true last weekend - especially as they’re pulling the place down in a few years - and that I was with @alexandriagouveia@klarazakis and @erikcollinder

- If you want to drone on about Newcastle United, she will listen with genuine enthusiasm (or at least what looks like genuine enthusiasm)
- She will run after drunk Geordies and hand out the fanzine you have made when, for reasons we won’t go into here, you’ve bottled it.
- Use all the olive oil.
- And the salt. Use all the salt.
- She’s genuinely funny as fuck.
- She does a decent kind of leprechaun dance. She can not do the worm.
- She is the kindest, most beautiful, caring, and loyal person I have ever met.
- She will definitely help you bury a body, should the need arise.

I made a fanzine to promote my book, The Battle For Newcastle United (@pitchpublishing ).
When I first started going to the match, fanzines were an essential part of the routine - Half Mag Half Biscuit, True Faith, The Mag. You don’t see them too often in print anymore… but you think about them. Or at least I do.
So, my very small contribution to that canon, a one-off edition #NewcastleUnited fanzine that I handed out ahead of the Liverpool match.
Some people definitely thought I was spamming them. Many others were, quite rightly, on a far greater mission to get to the bar. But I hope that just some people read it, and maybe some even used the QR code on the back and bought a copy 🙏🙏🙏
